Hacking No emunand_original.bin

I am following this guide https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-5-(arm9loaderhax) and on the last part the arm9loaderhax, but I don't have emunand_original.bin which is required during it to restore the system. I'm downgraded to 2.1 which is what you do in the previous step and can't access homebrew channel by holding down button (which is how I had it) when I try to enter through web browser the system freezes. The only thing I do have is emunand_formatted.bin

Please don't tell me I'm screwed I can't take it I just bought this today for 80 dollars my other one I switch ed out sd cards and then updated on emunand and it switched to sysnand (I guess) and updated me to 11.0 so I had to buy this one. Yes I'm a moron who's not smart enough to hack anything.

Do you remember copying emunand_original.bin from your SD card to your computer? You were supposed to do that earlier (Section III of Part 5). It has to be on your computer somewhere unless you literally skipped that part of the instructions.

Anyway, if you really can't find it, don't worry. I'm pretty sure you can use emunand_formatted, but you'll lose everything that you had previously installed on your emunand. Im not a 100% sure about this though, so wait for someone else to confirm.

When the guide originally told me to do it it said I didn't have a emunand so I kept going got careless about part 4 because to me it looked like it was recapping until parts 4/5 and now I am where I am.

I don't have anything important like games on my sd card yet so that I don't mind if it's formatted I just don't want to be stuck, or lose files that I can't get back.

You followed the guide all the way from Part 1, didn't you?

If you did, you would have installed a RedNAND, which is the term used interchangeably with EmuNAND.

Have you done the "install a9lh" ie Section II of Part 5 successfully? If so, your 3ds is safe at the very least since you still have other backups

Yes I started from part 1 but I just started part 5.

Okay, basically if you are sure you're on 2.1, and you've followed all the steps correctly apart from the emunand_original part, you can proceed to install a9lh if you want. Otherwise, you can wait for someone who knows more about these things to advise you.

Then why tf didn't you back it up? This what you get if you don't follow instruction and make backups of you nands that you're suppose to. If you brick your 3ds, it's your own fault and you deserved it.

Because I didn't have a emunand at the time like I said. I admit I was a bit careless but there are plenty of other threads you could go to instead you choose to troll. Really could care less what you think.

Don't worry, browser exploits are always unstable. Just follow the troubleshooting page and keep trying.

PS: it's "couldn't care less", not "could care less".

I'm sorry, but I'm surprised OP didn't brick. The people who come crying that they bricked are the ones who think they know what they are doing and just skip around the guide doing what they think is important. You can restore emuNAND_formatted.bin, but you should really follow the guide properly.
As for booting HBL, menuhax won't work on 2.1, and neither will browserhax iirc. If you have any NAND backup of a system version 9.2 or higher you should be able to continue the guide with installing A9LH and then restoring a backup. But I would just count yourself lucky you didn't brick from being careless.

Make them backups, always make all Plailect asked backups, only them and harmod can save ya CTR from becoming a nice shiny little useless thing.
