As long as your external HDD is a USB 3.0 device it should work fine.

As for the crash dump when you press home, that a different issue related to not having a proper Nintendont forwarder channel installed.

It's a 2.0 and 3.0 USB drive HDD, and that y cable has one 2.0 and one 3.0 USB on it. It should work fine. Also, that makes sense, since I'm loading Nintendont via The Homebrew Channel. What would you recommend be the best program? Also, I appreciate the help and fast replies. I was searching for hours before deciding to ask around.

I was referring the connector your HDD requires. As USB 2.0 and 3.0 cables are physically different on the end that plugs into the HDD. That cable only supports USB 3.0 Micro USB devices and won't fit into a USB 2.0 device. When it's says it's backwards compatible with USB 2.0 it's referring to the computer's/Wii U's USB ports and not the HDD. I just want to make sure you don't wind up buying the wrong cable.

Alright, I see what you're saying. I'm actually going to look around because that particular cord takes a month to ship. Thanks for the help, really hope the cord fixes the problem.

I bought several of them months ago. Since you are in the US I could sell you one for $6 shipped. If you are interested send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you a PayPal invoice.

I just bought one for $7 and paid $12 for 3 day shipping. I appreciate the offer, I'm just really impatient ;)
Nothing bums me out worse than spending the whole day trying to play my favorite games, and having to unplug the console constantly and google useless results for hours. I just wanted that cord asap. Still, if this works, It will be worth the $20.

The Y cable will work. My HDD used just a single port on the regular Wii, yet the same drive requires 2 ports on the Wii U.

do you have more than one usb device connected? is your device correctly formated to fat32?

Since you are suing the wiiu are you using an hdd with an y cable or your hdd has its own power supply?

while nintendont exfat support is being worked on i dont advise on using it becuase most wii homebrew is fat32 only so yeah kinda pointless no? i say go with fat32 for sure.

someone never had a gamecube lol, the gba link feature was used with some games where you used the gba link cable to gc and a specific gba game sometimes and had certain features enabled like trading pokemon to the gc version on pokemon games, enabling special stuff like tingle tuner in WW or splinter cell map and so on.

nintendont only supports mario gp,mariogp2,f zeroax, virtua striker versions and pro yakun or whatever its called.

on wiiu you need a hdd with its own power supply or an y cable.

take a picture of your settings screen on nintendont if you can.
YCable, I have a LAN adapter, Pokkén controller, HDD, Smash adapter pluged in. USB loaders can dump games just fine.

Wait so if you forward Nintendont to show as a channel you get a black screen when exiting Nintendont thats normal?

Also can anybody answer my other question can you rename the games that appear on Nintendont?

I don't think the available Nintendont forwarder sets the ReturnTo stub or isn't doing it properly. It returns to the HBC and Wii USB loaders properly.

Put this in the Nintendont folder and edit the name of the title ID you want to change. If you want to fix Triforce images Fix posted a tool to patch them.

The update to 3.400 killed my Nintendont on my wii. No usb installed and when I load Nintendont the b button doesn't work and it randomly loads GameCube games from my SD without my choosing. It's possessed!

Love this program so much, I take my wii with me on my work travels. Hope there is an update to the software soon. Just wonder if others are experiencing the same thing I am.

Does anyone know if there is a manual way to get back to 3.392? (I think that was the OS version)

GreyWolf TYVM putting the titles.txt you posted in my Nintendont folder solved that problem. I think the conflict was the other F-Zero GX starts with GFZ as did F-Zero Ax so I just changed GX to AX and it solved it.

I wish there was a way to forward the channel and be able to exit normally but I'll live.

math doesnt add up lol
y cable for hdd 2 ports, smash adapter 2 ports, poken controller 1 usb port, lan adapter 1 usb port, how do you have 6 usb ports used at once? lol
i would probably remove everything but the smash controller(if using the gc controller that is) and the y cable with the hdd, if you are using an usbhub of somekind then nintendont has no garantees of acessing it without crashing.

I'll try that, I did make sure that the GCN adapter's data was connected to the Wii U and not the hub.

So can anyone point me to the proper channel forwarder that won't crash when exiting Nintendont? I used the one in the first post of this thread.

dont think there is a full stub fowarder lol but if your using latest nintendont v400 i think fix made so if a full stub isnt found it returns to homebrew channel.

I have version 3.400 and now even with no USB inserted, there is no ability to choose which games to load off my SD card. As I previously mentioned, the b button doesn't work on my gamecube controller and basically it loads whatever game the arrow points too within 5 seconds. Something definitely changed with this version, all previous versions worked for me. I am running on an old school wii. Does anyone have any ideas for fixing?
