and please be patient with a n00b, how exactly do I verify my ISO of rogue3 with these specs from redump?
http://redump.org/disc/6319/
I'm researching it now, but any tips?
edit. so far the structure matches: - Gamecube: 1.459.978.240 bytes (712.880 sectors)

from: http://forum.redump.org/topic/5367/nintendo-gamecube-and-wii-dumping-guide/
downloading a mac hex tool... downloaded.
still confused. ;/

On a mac all you have to do is go to Applications --> Utilities and open Terminal
then type in:
Code:
openssl sha1
make sure there is a space after SHA1 and then drag the iso file into the Terminal Window and then press enter/return
then compare the the value with: 4d648ddcc354e9ab15c51530501a4ca2ee087fb7

As a fellow Mac user if you need anymore help let me know.

ok, results are in
my ISO dump of Star Wars Rogue Squadron 3: Rebel Strike -> 4d648ddcc354e9ab15c51530501a4ca2ee087fb7
vs the value from ReDump ----------------------------------------> 4d648ddcc354e9ab15c51530501a4ca2ee087fb7
so the ISO out of the picture for me now.
onto testing my setup with 3.311 and report back
thanks everybody for helping me out. onward to infinity!

Just curious, but if we can autoboot and play games, why not when we load the autoboot up it starts loading the gamecube intro straight away, hiding the loading text?

Use nintendont master mod linked on Abdallah Terro's signature :)
Its purpose is theming and also has this option.

ok my results from testing 3.311 with star wars rl3 rogue strike on the Yavin base mission. and was skipping the cut-scenes. they fade-away hiding some of the loading I think.
the loading times seem better in a lot of ways, comparable to my memory of what the gamecube was anyways.
- most loading screens (black maybe with music) are around 5 seconds. in-level usually when flying.
- some loading screens (black maybe with music) are around 10 seconds, not many. very beginning before the lucas arts intro and towards the end of the level.
- only a handful of loading screens (black maybe with music) are around 20 seconds. really only 2 or 3. the first is the transition from flying to running around in the base. it needs to load a completely new scene so... then again when you kill all of the stormtroopers until the cut-scene. then if you skip that cut-scene it has to load the next set of cut-scenes... you get the idea.
but no crashes. and I'm trying to get it to with forcing it to access things not how it wants to. so it seems stable. just slow by today's standards, but by no way slow when you think what has been accomplished from bare bones grassroots band of merry men, and women hopefully ;)

so I'll have to go back and test 296 vs 305. and if there's any new trunk changes as well...

my takeaway from using the latest revisions vs the ones prior to 2.296. I started with nintendont around 2.276 I think? (r@nt)
would be nice to have an option for high speed USB access and if you have issues you can always turn it back off again. but have it enabled by default possibly?
pretty much spot on in everyway I see other than load times now. but if they make the game more stable, and the star wars games always pushed the boundaries of what was possible with that hardware, than it's a plus. but may detract from some other games that could use it and not break the game. it's be a use at your own risk thing, which is what all of this is really.
and it's AWESOME!

The autoboot on the master mod has an image on during it, i was thinking more when the autoboot intiates the Bios could start then, show the gamecube screen animation going into the game after. It takes around the same time for the game to load with bios animation.

so basically the game no longer gives you disc read errors on 311 and works right? thats the porpose if loading times are longer its becuase of overal stability on all the games we cant just make exception trough exception of games that work with less speed checks and others that need more that would be too impratical.

Sure that's how I proceed :)

ok cool, I just downloaded that today and was wary until I sorted out things with the load times so I knew what was what. just playing it without crashing is pretty rad. crashing sucks. hard.

and what does the folder need to be named? I couldn't quite find that on the page so I thought you could only have one or the other...

totally understand, and no no more read errors. have only tested a few times. but nope. I think 309 didn't error out either. but there were longer loading times there I think.

need to test rogue 2 now. there was an issue on 309 with that.

Well there is a trick. This do not work exactly like you said but:

In update menu select "boot games on a black screen". Then exit nintendont and auto boot from a loader.. it will hide text, be on black screen for 5-6 seconds then boot the bios. Better than nothing :D

ok still have an issue on 3.311 that I had on 3.309 with star wars rogue squadron 2
- after it loads the main list of developer credits and after it loads another black screen for about 5 secs then it shows the power down message forcing you to reboot

tested my iso with the method above and verified my openssl sha1 /Volumes/USB/games/Star\ Wars\ Rogue\ Squadron\ II\ Rogue\ Leader\ \[GSWE64\]/game.iso
SHA1(/Volumes/USB/games/Star Wars Rogue Squadron II Rogue Leader [GSWE64]/game.iso)= 4add0e2411c0940d5c30dd408677085427f80aa9

so that's a big problem. don't think that's my setup.

it must be i can play rogue squadron II just fine

my settings
everything off except mcemu individual 251 blocks
video forced ntsc
language auto.

So is this every game from every region working now or just the usa and europe region games working?
well at this point every game from every region should work perfectly

with the exception of 4 games that run too fast
freekstyle
backyard football
hitman 2
GT cube.

every game besides this 4 should work perfectly.
