Gamecube discs can't be ripped on vWii (Wii U)
Oh, right, forgot about that, we are discussing a GameCube loader, i read it the wrong way...pff, i think i didn't have enough coffee yet, i solved that now .
Then I think it's time for you to get a Wii. Don't do piracy.
It is possible JuanLeOnardO still has Gamecube games, while he sold his GC and Wii, i know a few people that did, and now i have their GC games.

I don't have any GC games, neither the GC nor Wii :ohnoes: except N64

Well.. anyways i'll try F-Zero GX, if the game run flawlessly (REALLY hope), how can i edit the compatibility thread?

if doesn't work yet, but i'll habe to wait anyways :P

Then why ask about ripping?

Anyway, there should be an [edit] button on the right side of every letter.

MCEmu will fixed soon... c:

Will it or are you just being hopeful?

By no means do I not appreciate all the work thats gone into this, and I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting the kind of compatibility for Nintendont that we see in Devolution. But I understand that this is built very differently and improvements will take time and multiple more revisions. Even still I can't help but get anxious and excited for each new revision thats released.

While I was looking through the posts I saw him asking if there was support for real memory cards or if there would be at some point, so i'm not sure if he's referring to that in the post you've linked to (though it does sound like that). However it seems there wasn't a rev where physical memory cards were supported, so maybe he's simply stating that he considers MCEmu should take priority now that there's been work done on USB and DSP so one can save on more games.

He's being hopeful, he has no way to know exactly when MCEmu will work. I understand your anxiety but we can't do more than wait patiently and be thankful to those that dedicate time and energy to this project.

I don't own it so I can't test it. Check the compatibility list.

if you really want a GC loader that only plays gamecube games you own what are you doing here? that already exists and its called devolution and its near perfect compatibility, im really wondering why your here really. Everyone needs to try as much games as they can to find bugs and glithces to be fixed or compatibility wont go anywhere if everyone uses the same 5 games over and over.

Let's stop this conversation. The only way I can bring myself to work on Nintendont is by telling myself this isn't used primarily for piracy, even though I know it's not true.

I'm currently investigating the Hollywood revision theory. The version itself shouldn't matter at all (at least not to my knowledge), but it's possible that Wii's with the newer revision share something else in common specific to that model.

May I ask what is the Hollywood thingy I've been seeing lately?
Just to get me out of curiosity.

Is the Hollywood version a software thing (as IOS revisions are) or is it simply a way to identify the chip? I'm wondering because someone posted earlier stating that he believes his Wii (a GC compatible, apparently) is from 2006, but it showed the error Howard added to test this Hollywood theory. If it's a hardware thing, then it would be impossible for a 2006 wii to have it, so that user was probably mistaken; but if it's a software thing it would be possible that it updated at some point and said update included something else that broke compatibility with Gamecube?

I'm totally clueless regarding the wii and the way it works, that's why my question may be too noobish..

It's a hardware thing. Hollywood is the graphics chip. Later on in the Wii's life, the Broadway and Hollywood chips were upgraded, but they still run the same code. There aren't really any differences except the metal case around the Broadway chip is smaller, probably to save a few extra cents.

I did a search of "Hollywood" in this thread and I didn't see anyone say that they had a -1 error on an older Wii. Do you happen to have a link? I can dig through the thread if not, but it's nearly 200 pages.

PS: The Wii hardware codenames share a theme (Hollywood, Broadway, Starlet).

It was a couple of pages before this one.. here, this one http://gbatemp.net/threads/nintendont-crediars-new-project.349258/page-189#post-4967452 ; a few posts under that one he mentions "he believes it was an earlier version wii"

Of course in the first post he could mean that he's using a GC controller with an adapter, but since he doesn't clarify I don't think it was a family edition as mine.
Copyright = year they got a copyright for the Wii. All Wii's should say that, regardless of the build date.

Lol, you're right. I didn't think much about it at the time I read because he was obviously trying to find a way to make it work but certainly the copyright of nintendo would be the same year in all wii's.

Well, that didn't go anywhere. But if I can do anything to help with your investigation on the matter just name it, I'll do what i can.
