Check my post on the previous page #18569

Gotcha, and that seems like a weird method, I hope they can figure out how to get it to started without loading SSB first. But still...it seems to be HID after all, heh.

FIX94
Very interesting predicament with the adapter it seems, I hope you guys can get a hold of one of these :P

Edit 1:
Oh, so it will never work on a Wii :(

Or maybe until we know what Super Smash Bros does to initialize it...

Don't you have a Wii with Gamecube controller ports?

FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT.

After some extensive testing and troubleshooting.

The gc adapter works only under one condition.

YOU HAVE TO START SMASH BROS FIRST.

it seems somehow when smash bros starts it initiates the controllers otherwise they don't respond and his test detects the adapter but not the controller.

So basically this is how it works.

1) start smash
2) return to menu
3) start vwii
4) HID test will work and detect the controller.

I didn't create a controller.ini yet but the button presses are recognized.

Btw even wiiu mode won't detect the controllers being connected if you don't start smash first.

So smash is doing the initiation and somehow staying active whether in wiiu or vwii mode.

If any of the devs want to send me updated code to do some testing with th the gamecube adapter, I'm open to help anyway I can

I'd suggest tagging their names so they can see your offer ;)

I don't get my adapter for several days, but when I do I can test some stuff out.

Any reason why you can't get one sooner?

I ordered it on Amazon and shipping is delayed for some reason.
Well that sucks. Can't you speak to customer support about that? I would.
Is it theoretically possible to enable the USB front ports in vWii?
So that i.e. the GCN adapter could work.

Um, don't most models have GCN ports though?

I like that but I agree the 16MB option shall be marked as (unstable) or (not recommended) so that people know they may cause issues.

My question is why people would want to use that many blocks when most games don't take up that many and that they each create their own save....?

If I get my order pushed up, that just means someone else will have to wait. I'm not going to spend time trying to convince customer support that I deserve to be pushed up the line just so someone else can get pushed back. I can wait a few days.

Because more code (I'm sleepy), and I added this at the last second after I saw you repeatedly complaining about it. :p I might do it later.

But why...? I just can't seem to get it....
It is a matter of preference.
For instance, I find it much more easy to have just one memcard for all my saves.
And think about each individual save, each one is 2MB while having just one is up to 16 MB.
So having 8 games with individual saves takes the space of the biggest card (16MB).

If you have more than 8 games, then you will see that the Mem Card sizes start to get bigger and bigger instead of the multi 8MB or 16MB.
I have an 8MB save file and I haven't had any issues so far with it.

Also, take into consideration that some people (like sonictopfan) have a lot of games, and it makes having one mem card a lot more accessible instead of tracking down the game's ID and extracting an individual save.
