Hacking nintendont Mayflash 4 port GCN Adapter

I recently ordered the 4 port Gamecube adapter from mayflash off of Amazon, I have not received it yet But I understand that Nintendont, the gamecube homebrew supports the controller adapter, but I'm hearing that the mayflash one uses a different ID to the official one and requires is own HID file.

Is this true? Or will the HID files for the official adapter work?
