I was in nintendo.com and just searching some 3DS stuffs. and i found this application coming to the eShop and its called Nintendo Video. It says its coming soon and i've searched it on google but theres nothing. No reviews, screenshots or whatever. I'm kind of excited for this new app since it has the word "Video" on it. I wish its gonna be a like a video player that can view Flash videos. Or maybe Video recording. Either way, its gonna be an interesting app.

"Coming Soon" is a different way to say "It'll come eventually, don't bother us"

In addition to 3D games and photos, the Nintendo 3DS system has the capability to show videos in 3D.

In the near future, you will be able to download the Nintendo Video application, providing access to a range of exciting video content right on your Nintendo 3DS system. View specially selected 3D movie trailers, comedy clips and music videos, all downloaded using the SpotPass feature.

Allow me to quell your excitement a bit, forgive me. lol. I think I read somewhere that this app will feature content solely provided by Nintendo. What's sad, though, is that whatever functionality this app provides, it may pale in comparison to what the PSP - with it's sexy H.264 hardware decoder - can already do with video. I'm not trying to incite anything; I just don't understand why the 3DS didn't launch with a video and/or image viewer. It's 2011, nintendo.

From the underlined part - collaboration with google?

View specially selected videos from SpotPass... This doesn't mean all of it...

its probably a 3ds version of the nintendo channel

Yup, that's my suspicion as well. At most, they may eventually give us access to Youtube through a special app, but I truly doubt it.

No, it means there'll be different types of videos.

Nintendo Video will be videos provided by Nintendo and partners.

The cartoons, skits or whatever they mentioned at GDC. That including YouTube makes no sense.

-snip- some of the cheapest $40 Nokias can record and play videos, and most smartphones support Youtube... what's wrong with these people ? There's even no need for porting Flash - just throw in a FLV video player (I believe the format itself is open) and lots of people will be happy. You can add support for Youtube 3D later.

Or maybe they are so afraid that kids will use 3DS to watch (gasp) videos depicting NAKED WOMEN ? Well, if Nintendo is so puritan, why did they allow jiggling breast/sexy costumes (DoA) and touching underage girls (Doki Doki Majo Shinpan) ?

And .mpo's from the browser. ;O

I noticed this earlier, because it is mentioned in the Parental Settings in the System Settings menu. I wants it. Bad.

What the hell is the point of this? Don't we already have the eShop where we can download movie and game trailers.
For this app to be significant, they need to make it so we can view our own videos.
