Today Nintendo have unveiled a new account system that links smartphones with PCs and Nintendo hardware.
Users will be able to create a Nintendo Account using Google Plus, facebook, Nintendo Network ID, twitter or email.

The service will allow friends lists and your character and game data will be be stored on the Lakitu cloud for easy access on all devices.

As much I love I can now trade Pokemon over the internet, something i thought would be awesome back in the Pokemon Red / Blue days, Nintendo's online systems have always seemed so backwards / primitive compared to anything else out there today.

Games are tied to the account. The account is tied to the system.

Anyway.. Seems the other options for making account, is for people who haven't made account yet. I wonder if signing with Nintendo Network ID means you automatically get that name and if you are able to change the name. Will Nintendo Account be a website or a app?

My Nintendo is a thing too. Looks liie not only a club Nintendo replacement, but an achievement system as well, Hopefully this means all games. Guess while making a Nintendo Account, you can sign up for My Nintendo too.

Yup, they are switching back to 12 digit numbers, the NNID usertag didn't go well for them, it was too much for Nintendo to handle.

They are going to make a partnership with ICQ and all of the IDs will be random numbers, as usual, so you can feel that retro vibe.
