Simple means a bit easier to hack right?
Well, not necessarily. The simpler it is, the more maintainable the code that makes it up. If this is true, there would most likely be less exploitable bugs. Note that I'm no expert, this is just speculation.

You guys are really forgetting that this might not be the final UI.
This could very well be a Kiosk/Demo console made specifically for showing off the basics of the system, like those found on GameStop or places like that.

I have my bets placed that it's like that, also day one patches might be coming too, so get ready.
And internet browser is a must, I don't see why they would ditch it.

having no browser is good because usually when nintendo does put a browser on the system it's slow or doesn't work with many pages

No web browser is bad how am I supposed to watch anime on my switch with no browser hopefully they allow for they allow for browsers like chrome or Firefox.

The Nintendo Switch has a better processor, Nvidia's Tegra X1, good luck getting homebrew on that.
To be fair:
1) Nintendo has never actually been good with security. The gcn used an entirely different architecture like the switch, and it was hacked using one of its legacy ports

2) that's because from a software standpoint, they designed ps4 and Xbox one to be secure, but even then, we still do have headway in that department, just early stage homebrew.

And the only reason we say this is because Nintendo cuts costs anywhere they can.

Just hope Nintendo doesn't flop with their security if its run on modified android.........

They are so easy to root and get a cfw like cyanogenmod on its not even funny.

Yeah, and with android being the most insecure OS to date, it won't last a day if it's running android.

If they used Windows, we could expect it to be filled with crashes, slow downs, viruses, random hanging, and tons of bugs. Android is only slightly better, so I guess it's fine that they might use it.

See, it could always be worse. If they went with IOS, they'd be sellouts to Apple. Maybe then they could justify the horrendously priced accessories.
