for clarification purposes and peace of mind will there eventually be a softmod way to get cfw and homebrew launcher? really not at all excited about having to buy a paper clip and going into rcm mode just to get to homebrew. heres to hoping that theres plans on a softmod tutorial in the future. please feel free to post a reply and a like.

As of now, I've read a mix of only 1.0, up to 3.0, and even up to 4.X.

To my understanding atmosphere is basing it's execution on Fusee Gelee which requires a PC or Android phone to use.

We may see a way to softmod and even cold boot on higher firmware down the line. But that will be a while.

To my understanding of the scene currently. If the switch is on 1.0.0 then it is possible to do a software mod, other than that you need to have a hardware mod.
Eh, as long as there's a 3.0.0 softmod that doesn't require a PC or Android then I'll be fine

1.0 should get a softmod immediately, I don't remember with 3.0, and 4.1 will eventually get a softmod (but you'll be waiting a while).

The correct answer:

1.0.0 will get softmod through Jamais Vu (public)

3.0.0 will get softmod with Pegasus (public) and Deja Vu (private)

3.0.0-4.1.0: Deja Vu (private)

-----

5.x ---> : Fusee Gelee (Hardmod)

Deja Vu will be released eventually, but there is no timeframe for it, we do not know of any softmods for 5.x--->

Pegasus is what we currently use for HBL on 3.0.0

Fusee Gelee will work on all FW on console running the T210, future T214 (Mariko) units will need a new exploit.

Are there any advantages to Pegasus on a 3.0 system over 4.1? Are the softmods cold boot?

Honestly, I don't think that clarifies as a "hardmod". An actual hardmod IMO is when you need to open up the hardware or make some other dangerous modification that could end up frying the device (i.e. soldering).
