Nintendo switch pro controller without battery

Hi all.

I've received one Nintendo Switch pro controller HAC-013
Apparently it won't charge over multiple usb-C cables.

I've opened it. Battery is bloated and probably dead. Without battery, it doesn't show any sign of life on my PC. Sadly, I don't have Switch to confirm it

Question...
Does controller work on PC without battery?? I don't wanna order new battery just to find out that controller is dead.

Controller absolutely needs a battery to work with PC. You will have to make the small investment in a battery replacement to find out if it works.
