Nintendo SWITCH OLED PICOFLY screen problem

Hello,

After installing the Picofly chip on my Nintendo Switch OLED, I noticed an issue with the screen: two visible bands appear.


Initially, the screen works fine, and everything responds as expected. However, when I plug in the charger, the screen starts flickering. Once I unplug the charger, the two bands reappear on the screen.

When I boot into OFW (official firmware), the same problem persists, and the screen eventually turns off. I’m not sure what’s causing this.

Here are the measurements I’ve taken:

• DAT0 = 0.79

• Point A = 0.69

• Point D = 0.67

• Point 3v3 = 0.84

• Point B = 1.51

• SP1 and SP2 = 0.23

Can you help me identify the issue and provide a solution?

Never seen this one before.
It might be some damage to your screen , the ribbon cable or the connector(s) on the pcb.
But I can't related that to plugging/unplugging in the charger.
Maybe the brightness settings get adjusted when the Switch runs on the charger and the issue shows.

One thing to test might be removing the modchip, boot into ofw and see if it also happens when you plug in the charger.
If that shows no problem then there is something wrong with your installation.
Maybe there is some unintended short or solder blob somewhere.

I also looked everywhere for someone who had the same problem and I didn't see anything similar.

Yesterday, I checked my welds again and took over some welds to improve them. The chip starts even faster than before, that’s a fact. On the other hand, there are still the bands on the left and right of the screen. I disconnected the chip, but the strips also appear. After checking the ribbon cable and the screen, I noticed that one pin is very, very slightly damaged. Perhaps that could be causing the problem?


I also started the console in OFW, and it completely freezes every time I press a button. The screen flickers a lot as well. Could a defective screen cause the console to freeze?

If you hadn't already, I would check the connector with a microscope too. But there is change that the display is faulty.

The screen might be collateral damage here rather than the cause... I'd check for any shorts or damaged ICs.

Thank you all for your answers, I checked the screen connector under the microscope I saw on this connector a small slightly damaged piece, this connector looks very fragile!
