Do not buy a Switch Lite if you already have a standard switch.
There's some joycons with dpad (unofficial).
By juding reviews, the lite's dpad is the same as the pro one.
If you want the best D-PAD, buy a 8bitdo sn30pro+, i personally think this is the best switch controller available for switch and a great performance for bucks on PC.

there is a plugin that display them on the wii u menu, pretty sure it is enabled by default -

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
