Hi i bought a broken nintendo switch to try my luck and fix it. Switch does not turn on.
Checked with usb tester, drawing 0.46A but no fast charging.
Checked the caps no shorting however one of them near the M92T36 chip gives a regular continuous beep on one side and a short beep on the other with my continuity meter, maybe chip broken (?)
Tried connecting to my pc to see if RCM works and possibly reflash it but shows up as a unknown usb device with or without eeprom chip. Drivers are installed also.
Is the board fried? Hopefully its not :0

Can you pinpoint the short on the board on a picture?

its the lower capacitor beside the M92T36 IC.
to elaborate on the short beep, on one side my meter beeps as long as i hold the probe there but on the other side it beeps for a about a second and stops when i hold my probe there.

Checked that and no shorts there. However i did a bit poking and found shorted caps at the MAX77621 and MAX77620 ICs shown using diode measurement mode. Should i go about replacing them? they seem harder to replace given their size and proximity to other components sigh...

Did you replaced MAX77621 and MAX77620 and get it to work? i seems to have same issue with having some shorts on the capacitor around these 2 chips...

I would still say m92 or p13. try take off p13 and boot up ( it boots up without p13 anyway)

I almost have same issue got some short around max77620 and max77621. I tried to do a reflow on max77620. Before the reflow when connecting to a 5V charger it would draw 0.13A without battery and with battery 0.41A. After reflow it is drawing 0A without battery and still 0.41A with battery. This is not normal right? If i am not mistaken without battery it is suppose to draw like 0.10A for few second and then drop to 0A?
I am waiting for a replacement IC for max77620. Does anyone know if it is likely this chip to be faulty or something else?
I also measured voltage across the board with the battery connected and it is mostly 0V except for the testpads that are supposed to be 4V, i am getting only 3.37V.

@Avin @Marcus_lw did you find out a solution ? I also have shorts around MAX77621 chip but I don't know if I should try a reflow or if the problems may comes from M92. I have no shorts around M92.
