    I wouldn't bother.

Now if you were a kid back in 1988, then HELL YES by all means... Nintendo Power lived up to it's title back when it first started out. Long before the Internet was even a household name, NP was essential for cheats, maps and insider info. They even included incentives for subscribing like shirts, strategy guides, etc (at one point they even threw in a FREE copy of Dragon Warrior, aka Dragon Quest for NES!).

But now, print publications are going the way of the Dodo. Times change...

Here's a nice vid that explains the rise and fall of a once great magazine.

Dude, i mean they gave M&S at the Olympic games for the DS a 9 when IGN gave it a 7.8.

While that's true, I'd hate to lug my laptop into the bathroom when I take a duke.

I would say not worth it at all. I've been subscribed for 2 years (ended 2 months back) and it contained info about new releases and stuff, but everything in it I usually read about on the internet.

I was a faithful subscriber to NP ever since the beginning in 1988, being a member of the Nintendo Fan Club Newsletter before that. I stopped around the time I got a Playstation. I even had a NP lapel pin.

NP used to be THE source for information about Nintendo game and just like AVGN said, if you had a subscription, you were the man. I have a subscription to Game Informer now, but is so small, I can read it in a half hour and toss it out. [IMG]

Outside of a news bit or two no, not anymore at least. Once they sold out to Future One the quality of the reviews and articles in general went into the crapper and I cancelled it after being with them since the Fun Club days. I was pretty pissed, but it was evident between those fired, and the good deal brought in from other game system publications not all were thrilled with their 'promotions' in the attitudes I picked up on.

Nintendo Power is horrible now, all the good writers left, the reviews sucks, and the previews are redundant since you can find everything on the internet.
Plus, half the magazine is advertisements since they joined with Future Publishing.

Nice articles, but not so good reviews.

Give or take it's a pretty decent magazine.
