wow, last night I wanted to play a few games of COD ghosts but I could not fetch my online player profile.
today same thing.

I found this statement on the nintendo site:

Due to a high amount of online traffic, network services may be intermittently unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.

Start Date and Time of Outage:
Wednesday, December 25, 2013 5:15 AM Pacific Time
Ongoing

Did Nintendo sell that many WiiU's this holiday ? :D
Are the 3DS' the blame for this?
Or is something else going on here...
Cause to me , the whole network is offline ... not overloaded!
Is there anybody ATM who can connect ?

I can confirm that I can'tm acces the eShop and Miiverse from the 3DS, it seems that the servers are obviously overloaded (Christmass gifts pls) but, I can enter online services such trding in Pokémon X and online races in Mario Kart 7.

The error code I got for trying to enter the eShop is 005-4040, it was the same error code when the eShop first launched and everyone couldn't enter.

Couldn't get on the Eshop last night or today. Wanted to ad points. Browser works fine though. Nintendo REALLY NEEDS TO UPDATE THEIR SERVERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got a Zelda Wii set for Christmas this morning. Been trying all day but can't access eShop to get my fucking WWHD game.

I hate digital downloads. Put a disc in the box next time you silly bastards.

if a pokemon save is forked from a faulty key Y wouldn't make gateway online users (in case pokemon gets online support) easier to detect ?

High amount of traffic? Whose?

If a little under 4 million Wii U's and around 35 million 3DS's (which have barely any impact due to a small number of Nintendo Network games) is "too much traffic", I dread to think what would happen if the Wii U actually sold well.

well EUR seems to be back online now
they removed Pokemon Bank and Transfer for now and disabled the service for it

knowing Nintendo when they finally get everything running they might give us something for free :P
