I will probably get the Slider Attachment for the 3DS. Think of it as holding the 3DS with the Nyko Battery.

I would buy a 3DS XL. After buying a DSi XL, I couldn't go back to the smaller screen of the 3DS. I really hope Nintendo sees the light and utilizes more of the 3DS' real estate for a larger screen. It would be great if they kept the same length, width, and height of the 3DS, just larger screens! Bigger is Better! :D

I still don't get it why people hate the 3DS's design.

If you take a look at the original Gameboy, that was just a massive brick with a tiny LCD and uncomfy buttons.

The DS Phat wasn't the best design either. (I liked it tho)

Agreed, also the design of the first GBA and the lack of a backlight weren't particularly well received. It seems like common practice for Nintendo.

All the more a reason to wait for a 3DS revision. ;)

They were both solid consoles though. I remember reading in an old issue of Nintendo power about some soldier who went to war and brought his Gameboy. There was an image of it beat to shit, more than anything you could imagine. But it could still turn on, play games, and was even sent to Nintendo and repaired (not replaced). As for the Phat, all I hear about is people whining over their DS Lites and DSi's breaking. Shoulder buttons crapping out, hinges breaking, all this stuff. I've had my DS Phat for years and the only issue is that part of what connects the top screen to the hinge broke off. It still works pretty fine though, albeit being ugly and dim (lighting wise).

If anything electronics in general have been downgrading their build quality in favor of making a "slimmer" product. This isn't just Nintendo. People still use those old brick iPods from years ago but almost every person I know (except me) has a broken screen on their iPod Touch.

EDIT: Maybe we're a bit harsher on our electronics but you'd expect companies to make better built devices in response to that. Although most companies want you to break shit you buy from them so you're forced to buy a replacement if it broke by your hand.

iirc, a while ago Nintendo said that they weren't going to release a "3DS lite." Though I fully expect a 3DS XL or a 3DSi or something. It's already small enough even with the slider pad. But apparently we live in such a lazy society that anything that won't fit in our pockets isn't portable enough.
