Misc Nintendo ID compromised?

So today I've been getting an insane amount of password reset emails, obviously someone trying to get into my account.

Just wondering if there is any way I could protect myself (i was considering changing my e-mail but then I thought the ID is a user not email so that wouldn't make much difference)

My E-mail account has 2 step authentication so I assume it's pretty safe, no other way whoever this person is can get into my account is there?

Well if you get emails somebody trying to get into your account, and they are not getting into your account your fine. Your email password and NNID password isn't the same (I hope it isn't) so you should be good.
