Hardware Nintendo guaranty reparation and hacking

Hello, since 1 month my wii starts making graphics artefacts.

I read somewhere it is caused by the GPU that overheating and this problem known by nintendo need to send the wii to nintendo. So i got to put off the chip yaosm from the wii and delete everything on it (wiiware and personnal data) ? So after i do that, can i have any problems? How many times do they usually take to do send it back ? Can the reparation be done by modders ?

one of my customers had the same problem with one of the first wii consoles.

i removed the chip, reset all data and send it back. in 2 days he had a brand new wii back from ninty with d2c chipset.
