What do you think about this "hack"?

for loading homebrew which nobody can make ATM (that is why the exploit is useless right new(for the not devs))

I'm just hoping it's not going to be the same cat and mouse game that every other firmware update can patch. I'm hoping the exploit leads to some kind of anti-updating mechanism, so we can block official updates much like the Wii blocks Disc updates. That way when we've got the green flag to update, we can do it manually, like with the PSP.

If it's anything like the Wii, they'll probably try and block it a few times and then give up. You might say they've learned from the Wii, but their online strategy says otherwise, right?

Nintendo can't force-update the system if you disable the wireless, now can they? If we can block updates with the hack, we'll be set and be able to play any game we want!

I just want to Region-lock gone, So tired of seeing so many awesome Japanese titles and know I have to buy a another 3DS just to play them -_-

Thanks for this thread. The "we hacked it" thread is super long and continues to gain pages every time I check the site. Will be checking page 1 here from now on. Unless an odd interesting thread gets posted.

Be ashamed, all you care is about piracy, this is what will ruin the 3ds but im all for the hack to get rid of the region lock
I honestly can't think of a single system that was actually ruined by the piracy. Hell the wii probably had one of the highest piracy rates around and has top sales to show for it, PSP also got good sales as well as the 360 (although less pirated). What i look forward to is playing gamecube games on my 3ds however.

No problem, I probably won't have as many updates at least until next week.

Good luck bud.

It's to PREVENT you from saying they weren't legit.
Oh, and that makes so much more sense.

Since the point of my post went way over your head, I'll simplify. No one expects N64 emulation to work well on a 3DS, so Gamecube emulation is likely out of the question. Therefore, your best bet is either play it on a Gamecube (or Wii U, if it ever happens), or if you prefer it to be portable, then get a custom portable GC.

While Gamecube games on the 3DS would be amazing, I'm pretty sure you'd have better luck shelling out a grand to have a portable gamecube made for you...
Why the heck would you think you could play a gamecube game on a 3ds? I mean, unless it was turned into a 3DS game, then that would be impossible.

Oh sorry, sarcasm, please ignore

There's is a file called movable.sed on every 3DS. It is unique to each individual console. This is used to sign saves on the SD card for THAT console. Someone else's movable.sed is useless to you. You would have to dump your own to be able to properly encrypt SD saves for your console. To do that, you would run some program via the game card exploit which would dump the movable.sed from your NAND. After that, you could encrypt SD saves i.e. eShop saves
When you say sign a Save do you mean the ROM data?
