Nintendo 3DS Dev Kit open

Looks like things are getting real! The WarioWorld website (official site for dev kits) has just added the 3DS to its roster. Looks like this opens the doors for third party devs that are licensed for Wii/DS, but want to get on the upcoming 3DS action. Thanks to Akon for the heads up!

That's not necessary true, and I would doubt it's the case with this system, since it's obviously going to be comprised of pretty unique architecture. The dev kit likely won't detail everything about the system, being as this is Nintendo we're talking about, but I doubt it's merely an interface liaison. People can't simply develop games without knowing the hardware.

No. PS3 SDK was leaked AGES ago, and it has only JUST got a hack. SDK means nothing for hackers. It just allows compiling code. Doesn't sign it, Ninty still have to do that, so the code couldn't be run on a console.

also: when the 3ds was announced at e3, there was a press pack. someone had a press account or something, uploaded the files, we looked at them. they had specs; games; screenshots; trailers...it was f'king awesome

I believe that was me and some select other users. The servers were being swamped but I somehow got though and maxed my 20Mb connection. Took advantage of the situation and upped them. Any you're right they were amazing

However this would be more useful AFTER the 3DS is hacked because as mentioned before, this will not authorize the code to be executed on the console.
