Hacking Newbie trying to crack Wii console

Hi guys a newbie here. Just bought a secondhand wii console. Saw some feeds on YouTube on how to load up my SD card. Managed so far to get the homebrew browser. But when loading up no images are shown. When scrolling down particularly on Emulator or Utilities it crashes after about 6-7 scroll downs. Attaching screen shot.
I've removed the XML from the SD card. Plus also held down B when loading up but still crashes.
I've been told that possibly updating IOS but not sure how to do this?

Happens to me too. All I can recommend is, um, don't use the Homebrew Browser.

Loading games from USB, homebrew from SD. This is on vWii by the way, but from testing on actual Wiis the problem is still there.

Are you confusing the Homebrew Browser with the Homebrew Channel? The browser is only for downloading open source apps and it's barely functional anymore and not supported. If you want the apps get them from wiibrew.org. If you want to mod your console get the HBC installer from http://please.hackmii.com
