Newbie switch modded - tinfoil failed install

Hi forum guru’s.
After some help for a tinfoil installation.
I have installed mod on switch using Hecate boot and atmos cfw.
I used YouTube guide for tinfoil installation and signs.
Extracted and placed both on root of sd card.

Problem I have is once I boot into atmos, I have no tinfoil to install, it is not there.
Again I extracted the tinfoil ins to sd card as well as sig files.
Any thoughts?

Could be a couple of things :
- did you place tinfoil in the right folder? The tinfoil file needs to go into 'switch' folder not the root.
- do you see anything else if you click the album icon?
- if you're on a Mac, note that it sometimes messes up the flags for the folders. Hekate has an option to fix that.

Though I'm not a tinfoil fan myself (I use goldleaf). You never mentioned, did you get into the homebrew menu by opening the album folder while holding down R?

Maybe don't use applet mode, or install tinfoil manually.

Just use Tinfoil Nro self installer
Copy Tinfoil folder to Switch folder
Then install Tinfoil from album

Though I'm not a tinfoil fan myself (I use goldleaf). You never mentioned, did you get into the homebrew menu by opening the album folder while holding down R?

Huh? By default, holding R on the album, will open the real album. If you hold R to open the homebrew menu, then you did some voodoo that a newb wouldn't even begin to think of doing...

Tinfoil obviously is not installed correctly. remove all the files it added, if you used the homebrew menu/shop to get tinfoil remove/uninstall it from there, go get the tinfoil files from the github and install tinfoil manually either by usb in hekate, or by removing your SD card and moving the files over. Not sure why you're the only one having this issue, you're obviously missing something.

because you put the .nsp in there instead of the .nso installer. Use Goldleaf to install the .nsp.

Or... just use the Tinfoil self-installer like said here:

You just get the self-installer from the Tinfoil website and press the NRO Self-Installer download button. Also, make sure you have the proper sigpatches installed.

Just let me know if you need help putting the files on your SD card.

Yeah it's user error of some sort, make sure you're doing right. maybe watch a more in-depth install tut, and follow it step by step, might see what you're doing wrong.

Dude already downloaded the .nsp, so there's no good reason to download it a second time. You're not really helping at this point.

The download could be broken, or bad. a corrupted file. If you swear you are doing everything else right, then the next likely culprit is usually the file it's self. It's not pointless. Unless you actually try it, you can't check it off the list. lol

It could be, but nobody knows that, not even him. it takes a couple of seconds to open Goldleaf to see if it was the .nso that he put in there, and then install it. It takes considerably longer to go find and download the .nro, get it on his card, then launch CFW again, to launch the installer.

The "most likely reason" that it doesn't show up in the HBmenu, is that it's an nso file. You freaking newbs need to stop contradicting those of us who have been here forever compared to you. You don't know what the hell you're talking about, and your assumptions are childish.

Maybe there's an issue with the files (it happened to me) try this it's a nice pack that Chaosta did for me, just add the tinfoil installer and you are good to go
