Hacking Newbie SCDS1 SDHC menu question

I just got my SCDS1 v3 today and was wondering if its possible to use the d pad to scroll through the menu options? Currently the only way for me to go through the menu is to press L+A to switch the screens and use the touchpad. Whenever I try using the d pad nothing happens.

Didn't want to start a new topic, so I'll just leave this here.
I was wondering if someone could test it. It's the default skin, just reduced in size from 750KB to 150KB.
Supposedly SCDS1's menu is pretty slow, so maybe someone could try this out.
Besides skin there are other options for speed, so I'd be more interested in seeing how it works alongside it.
I don't own a SCDS1 but just made it for the hell of it. Let me know how it works out. Cheers.
