Let me see if I got this straight. If I transfer pokemon from a DS to DS from a flashcard to a legal or another flashcard I'm okay and don't need that tool that you linked but if I wanted to transfer from my computer to the flashcard or a legal copy I would need that program, did I get that right?Transferring from a flash cart to a flash cart only needs the pokesav tool (it's used to take PKM files (pokemon) out of a save and insert them into another).

Transferring a PKM to a real cart needs the wifi sending tool I linked you to.

Transferring a PKM from a real cart will require you to use a special save ripping tool with a DS/Lite.

Also I just had a thought, I noticed that sooner or later 1.8.2 is going to come out. Now when I put 1.8.1 on the SD card and wanted to upgrade it to 1.8.2 wouldn't that over write the saves I have, assuming that go there or am I wrong and everything will be fine? The saves are in the ROM directory, not the _aio directory. They will work just fine.

Oh! You said about AP and such, is that automatically set to on when you put in Acekard or do I need to find it under setting or something?
Most AP patching is automatic, however currently there is one option that is optional (because it stops the DS's "download play" feature from working when it's on, so it's off by default). If you go into the AKAIO system settings from the start menu and use the arrows at the very top to move to the "patch settings" page you can find the AAP option, if you change an option there it's changed globally. However it's recommended that for something like that (which you don't want on all the time) you set it individually per ROM, only turn it on for ROMs that need it. If you press Y on a ROM in the file list, you can go to the patch options and turn AAP on from there (only a couple of the latest games need it).

The AAP option will be removed (because it's downfalls will be fixed, so it will be on automatically) in the next version of AKAIO.

Hi mate.

I just ordered 2 Acekard 2i for my kids.

Will be waiting a week or so on delivery but I'm grabbing all my files in readiness.

I've downloaded AKAIO 1.8.1 as you have just suggested. But when I extract the files (ready to plonk onto the micro sd for when the kard arrive) and I open the included loader directory, it is empty. Shouldn't the loader file be in there ?
:/

Cheers.
The download from www.akaio.net includes the loaders, where did you get it without the loaders?

Yeah, they are there, I'm an eejit. I was opening the wrong directory...ak2loader DOH!

Thanks for replying mate.
Best stick with 1.8.1 or go with 1.8.2 ? Some comments on files being removed and causing brickage kinda scared me.

Um, I downloaded that Python program, got the PKN from the event page to try it. I dragged it into it and the black box popped up and I got the DNS setting so I loaded up my legal copy of Pokemon Plat and went to the Wifi setting but when I tried to enter that DNS code it says it's invalid plus to connect to wifi I usually use the Nintendo USB Wifi adapter, does that make a difference?

Even with 2 DS's I still need this wifi thing? Cause I was kinda hoping I could run one DS with the Acekard Pearl and find a save with all the pokemon and just use the other DS with the legal copy and just transfer that way. Guess I'm out of luck if I can't (cause I read more on the topic and it seems the USB connector doesn't work) or maybe find some nice person to send me those pokemon somehow. =/

Also for the cheats section, I downloaded the file 23_12_10_All.zip from http://cheats.gbatemp.net/ and just extracted cheat.dat and cheat.xml and put them in the Cheats section as it said in the sticky, did I do that right?

Whew! That's a big load off my mind now with the two DS's thing! Now to find a save for Pearl with Shaymin, Darkrai, Deoxys, Manaphy and Arceus. Yeah, this isn't going to be easy.

As for the cheats do I just download http://cheats.gbatemp.net/files/23_12_10_USRCHEAT.DAT.zip that file and replace it in the cheats folder or use the usrcheat in the one I already downloaded?

My D/P save with conditions listed: link. You can edit it in Pokesav to your heart's content.

Ah! Thank you very much! So um to put that save into effect on my card I just put that file in the same folder as the Games or do I need to do something else?

If you have already started a new D/P pokemon game on your AceKard, follow Option 1. If you haven't started a new D/P, follow Option 2.

Option 1: Rename Hakoda's save game to match your D/P game, but change the extension to *.1.sav and save it to the same folder/directory as your D/P game. Fire up your AceKard and change the Rom Settings of D/P by hitting the Y button twice. Change the "Select Save Slot" from "Default*" to "Slot 1". Save your changes. When you start up D/P, you'll be keeping your current save file intact and be using Hakoda's. Once you're done using Hakoda's save, you can delete the save file and change "Select Save Slot" back to "Default*" to return playing your original save.

Option 2: Rename Hakoda's save game to match your D/P game, and save it to the same folder/directory as your D/P game. Fire up your AceKard and off you go.
