Rydian said:The download from www.akaio.net includes the loaders, where did you get it without the loaders?Carmentis said:Let me see if I got this straight. If I transfer pokemon from a DS to DS from a flashcard to a legal or another flashcard I'm okay and don't need that tool that you linked but if I wanted to transfer from my computer to the flashcard or a legal copy I would need that program, did I get that right?Transferring from a flash cart to a flash cart only needs the pokesav tool (it's used to take PKM files (pokemon) out of a save and insert them into another).
Transferring a PKM to a real cart needs the wifi sending tool I linked you to.
Transferring a PKM from a real cart will require you to use a special save ripping tool with a DS/Lite.
Hi mate.Carmentis said:Also I just had a thought, I noticed that sooner or later 1.8.2 is going to come out. Now when I put 1.8.1 on the SD card and wanted to upgrade it to 1.8.2 wouldn't that over write the saves I have, assuming that go there or am I wrong and everything will be fine? The saves are in the ROM directory, not the _aio directory. They will work just fine.
Most AP patching is automatic, however currently there is one option that is optional (because it stops the DS's "download play" feature from working when it's on, so it's off by default). If you go into the AKAIO system settings from the start menu and use the arrows at the very top to move to the "patch settings" page you can find the AAP option, if you change an option there it's changed globally. However it's recommended that for something like that (which you don't want on all the time) you set it individually per ROM, only turn it on for ROMs that need it. If you press Y on a ROM in the file list, you can go to the patch options and turn AAP on from there (only a couple of the latest games need it).Carmentis said:Oh! You said about AP and such, is that automatically set to on when you put in Acekard or do I need to find it under setting or something?
The AAP option will be removed (because it's downfalls will be fixed, so it will be on automatically) in the next version of AKAIO.

I just ordered 2 Acekard 2i for my kids.
Will be waiting a week or so on delivery but I'm grabbing all my files in readiness.
I've downloaded AKAIO 1.8.1 as you have just suggested. But when I extract the files (ready to plonk onto the micro sd for when the kard arrive) and I open the included loader directory, it is empty. Shouldn't the loader file be in there ?
:/
Cheers.
Yeah, they are there, I'm an eejit. I was opening the wrong directory...ak2loader DOH!
Thanks for replying mate.
Best stick with 1.8.1 or go with 1.8.2 ? Some comments on files being removed and causing brickage kinda scared me.
