Ok this is all I want to be able to do with my Wii, make backups and play them.

I have been researching this for about a week and I am still pretty confused. I can mod Xbox and 360s so im not new to the modding scene.

But still I bought my Wii the day it came out (waited 6 hours in line) so Im guessing its a D2B??

And if this is true I cant used a Wiikey and a WiiClip?

So if this is all true what kind of method and modchip do you reccomend I use?

Open your Wii... just till you can take the DVD drive out... look at the chips... find one that say G2C-Dxx, and look to see if the legs on that chip look wierd...

I have a D2B chip without cut legs, and I can use a WiiKey with WiiClip

Launch wii = GC2-DMS... legs won't be cut. Unless you returned your wii to nintendo, you won't have anything newer than this.

Wiikey + clip will work fine, as will free clip programmed with YAOSM.

There's no point in spending the extra for a D2Pro / Wasabi / Argon...
