haha i implemented a HDD version of ABadAvatar because i was fed up with having a USB stick stuck in my system all the time, i have released this based on Shutterbugs ABadAvatar but i have included a package tailored for first time users as it contains, Proto Server, Aurora with the NXE theme and autoboot XeShackled 1.03 all preconfigured and ready to copy to your HDD and turn the system on, several hours or so later the other user posted a release for Xbox360 Phat Memory Cards, i suppose for users of old first gen 360's who dont have a HDD but will run backups off their external HDD.

You can't run AbadAvatar witout hdd on many phats.

Its because the avatar data from the lastest dash need to be on the hdd.
If you have a big block jasper phat with internal mu then update probably installed the avatar data on the memory unit, so then BadAvatar will work without hdd.

I had to sign into my old GBAtemp account just to tell you you’re wrong

Author of aBadMemStick here. I have avatar data on Mu1 (slot next to the sync button) and the exploit made to run off of Mu0

Works flawlessly

Edit: I however can not run it with just one Mu unless it’s a Jasper that has the update on it's nand. However, unless i can figure out how to shift partition sizes without messing with the xbox too much, i can't get plugins

Besides emulation and piracy, what's everyone's favorite homebrew use of the Xbox 360?

I have a 2006 vintage 360 with a Hitachi DVD drive that I modded way back in the day and I have multiple CD cases worth (atleast 300 games) of burned games that I haven't played in 15 years or so. I am tempted to pull it out and dust it off for this mod, but I feel like I have nothing really interesting to do with it. Is there any online gaming enabled through this, my console was banned in one of the early waves back in the day? I am so excited for the potential of this exploit, but I feel like it's possibly a dead scene and mostly just a novelty at this point. I know 2000's era esthetics are hip now with the younger crowd, should I mod my 360 and can I sell it to some kid for an exorbitant price because playing a non-hdmi xbox 360 is somehow ironic and cool?

The Phats are a cool retro looking space heater, for the winter months.
Very true, high efficiency space heater and also white noise/fan noise generator. I remember they always sounded like a Harrier jet struggling to take off. Honestly though, in the grand scheme of gaming, the Xbox 360 has to be one of the greatest consoles ever. So many awesome games in it's library that are still worth revisiting and replaying, and the graphics really aren't that terrible. This was still an era where true exclusives still existed, and even when a game was cross-platform there still was the chance of differences. I am biased against the PS3, and the Wii had a pretty solid library but I feel like as long as your console didn't get the Red Ring of Death, the 360 was the best from that generation.

I might just pull it out just to play some Deadly Premonition for old time's sake.

Excluding things like custom dash, nothing. I've had my jtag since 2010, there was never anything exciting homebrew wise. Best thing about it was not having to deal with discs anymore, region free and dlc, homebrew was just a wasteland, nothing compared to the original xbox. Not even a decent media player, which back then before cheap android boxes were everywhere, would have been amazing.

Honestly, I agree with you. Having to constantly re-run Rock Band Blitz to get into an exploited state takes further steps to get into that, so to have it automatically do it for me without needing to touch anything on the controller is extremely useful. I'll take this into consideration and probably use that. We're soon closer to getting a full softmod, I just know it. Hopefully Grimdoomer will show us a new update for his HDD exploit if he gets around to it, which does take quite a lot of time with all the work put into this, so we'll let him be.

Cheers for the heads-up, @rain2591. :grog:

You cant go passed 500gb with this so rgh at 16tb+ is still the best possible - There's also other things you can only do with rgh. You need 17559 dash for this to work on all 360s so you get the same stock dash - You can use FSD or aurora once exploit is triggered though.

RGH hardware modification has the possibility of destroying the console.
