The fact that this hasn't been patched yet is insanity. Who else thought this would've been patched mid march by latest? I occasionally google search for it to see what the latest dash is.
Microsoft is done patching for the 360. One of the main guys behind the stealth servers released all the goodies (anyone can run their own now with a cheap VPS) and sent Microsoft all the information as well. All they need to do is change some RSA keys and the current Stealth implementation is dead, with a fat chance no one can save it since all the OG devs are long gone.... iirc this happened last year, still no patch in site.

The 360 is EoL for all intents and purposes, it's a shock XBL is even still up for it.

Would feel better if the last update blew every efuse but wow that is reassuring. Not used to companies sticking to their words I guess. If Sony could "update" the PS2 I bet they would.

Let's hope that no skids will make a server designed to be unsecure. Its main demographic will usually be mid-30s and over, so this will be fine.

I was the 9 yo playing MW2 the day it came out but my friend had the fat 360 without WiFi. He could've prob JTAG'ed it even in 2012.

Well, if he were to JTAG his Xbox 360 it would require him to be on an older dashboard, such as Blades, before the JTAG exploit would've been patched. RGH 1.2 is much preferred nowadays and soldering is a lot more common.

Yea, I'm just saying that console never got updated because he never bought the WiFi adapter and never had live. Not very uncommon back then. To be fair tho it wasn't blades but just barely so no JTAG but definitely RGH 1.0. And also I'm sure MW2 updated the dash with the update on disc but that was the only way his console was ever getting updates even in 2014.

Point was there were many 9 year olds back then playing 360 on MW2 launch day so I'd think the range would more so be mid 20s. That and GTA 4 were huge (but no one I knew played the story)

I used LIVE a few days ago to download a few TU's and the exploit is still working with me.

The thing about live baning is I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that live ends before 2026 so is it really a big deal anymore? Also why use live to do TU? You have a legit disc? I guess it is inline with "whatever goes" now with them but I still find it incredible

xboxunity.net still does not have all title updates.

For instance, Shadow of Mordor has a 400MB plus update that is not on unity nor is the last TU7 for Dragon Age Inquisition that is 700MB plus on there.

Plz back that up! I am both shocked at how much has been backed up and made available and also scared that stuff will get lost once the plug is pulled

You can play Original Xbox backups without that NETISO plugin as long as you have the hacked/unlocked xefu emulator. The backups I made years ago would not be considered proper, as-in, game partition only, without security sectors. However they do work.

But as neat as it is running backups from DVD-R on a stock DVD drive, it would be better to save the laser and run them from USB and/or HDD.

What I personally would like are apps to:

1. Make a full ISO backup for Xbox 360 and Original Xbox games whether to split them on a FAT32 drive or a full ISO to an NTFS/exFAT drive.

2. An app that supports NTFS and exFAT and allows mounting ISO's to boot them from the dashboard's disc menu like a retail disc.
This does just that lol the NETISO plugin i just didn't bother with the ISO over SMB part 2 in 1 special lolz... This is from NETISO readme...

NetIso 1.0
----------

================================================================================
Overview - what it does
================================================================================
- plugs in... it is a plugin after all
- allows disks burned for flashed drive to work in unflashed drives
- allows disks burned for flashed drives to work in unpaired drives (dvd key lost etc)
- allows a directory of iso(s) to be served to the console as if a disk was in the drive
- allows NXE install of normally installable disk images

================================================================================
Overview - what doesn't do
================================================================================
- will not allow simultaneous use of of connectx and this
- will not allow retail/real disks to work in unpaired drives
- does not emulate the hv/drive security layer
- does not interfere with real disks when a server iso is not mounted
- does not, on it's own, provide a way to choose server isos

================================================================================
Installation
================================================================================
- make sure your Aurora plugin is up to date (to be able to select isos from the server)
- put the server IP in a txt file 'netiso.xex.txt' (sample provided) either beside
netiso.xex (if starting from dash launch ini with a recent version of dash launch)
or on the root of the content partition on the internal hard drive
- once the plugin is running, it defaults to disk mode (and will assist burned disks in unflashed drives)
- once Aurora plugin is running, you will be able to use the Guide File Manager menu
to mount (or dismount current) disks from the server via the Smb: drive item

I worked in the Xbox division at Microsoft.

This will never be patched. There is no one left there who understands the backend systems that support these old consoles. When I wrapped up there there were barely enough folks around who knew how to keep the Xbox One-era backends up and running w.r.t certificates and the like. And that was 2 or 3 years ago already.

Any person who *is* still there that understands/remembers these systems is so senior by this point that they have way more important things they are focusing on.

Tysm for this response. If it hasn't by now, it wont be. And I sorta had the same suspicions because 360 isn't like anything the still work on.

Snap Microsoft employees in da house thx for the confirmation on the corporation 😆 🤣 😂 OK now give us that private master signing key 🔑 so this can be perfectamondo!!! Hope I wasn't being too subtle...

I hope someone can make a version of FSD3 for Bad Update users that lacks the patching options. I miss the NXE dashboard and detest the metro.

what's the most comprehensive guide for bad update? What exactly can be down with the bad update exploit so far? And do people foresee a future with more refinements with faster execution and/or permanent cfw?
