The VC.exe program don't work on my pc.

I get an error from Windows XP.

Signature of the error :

This tool was programed to work under "command line". In case you make double click on vc.exe file thats one of the results.
I subject you to read all the first post and then report problems...

Edit : I tested the program and it create the .wad correctly, but I always get the same error at the end.

However, the error window is not really a problem, as the program is running correctly except of that.

If you get glitched graphics with a neogeo rom, get another romset (I recommend Mame's one).

An example. I just tried "Real Bout Fatal Fury" (Neorage Set) and all I got was glitched graphics (though the game was seeming to work fine in terms of gameplay).

I, then, tried the Mame Romset, and now the game is working without any graphics glitchs.

So here's a little summary :

i read elsewhere that it would be possible, and that they are playing it right now on their wii's!
Please if someone know in which game i should inject it let me know!!!

If i where you, i will use kof94 from vc instead of mslug. With Mslug you need to modiffy the save banner. Kof94 dont have save and for instance xD dont have extra work...


Thats my opinion. Can anyone explain me a different point of view? Or a special use for save in neogeo?

Not really a problem. And like that, it can probably save records or such in a few games. And we have to modify the title, the banner and such, so personnaly, taking two more seconds for the save icon isn't a problem, just need to put a "neogeo" one which can be used for every game.

is it in anyway possible to play ntsc mario 64 at 480p 60hz on a pal wii using this....576i looks terrible on my lcd tv.
also if not will it ever be possible to force pal wii to 60hz for virtual console stuff... is it being looked into
or should i invest in an ntsc console

I have a problem getting the NTSC version of Paper Mario to run after being injected into the PAL (60hz) version og Sin & Punishment.

I've tried a GOOD ROM dump used with PC emulators and I've tried using the NTSC WAD of Paper Mario.

Using the WAD version results in the Wii locking up and hanging at the Classic Controller screen.

If I use the regular ROM file that I use with a PC emulator, the game boots up and I can start my game BUT it hangs and locks up when I attack Bowser in Peach's Castle right at the beginnig of the game. It also hangs with static screaming out of my speakers if I let the Intro continue until you see bits and pieces of actual gameplay.

What could be wrong? Everywhere I look everybody seems to be saying that Paper Mario works really well.

I have injected the NTSC Super Mario 64 into Sin & Punishment WAD with GREAT success. 480p at 60hz including Banner, Title and Manual from the Super Mario 64 WAD.

I would really like to be able to do the same with Paper Mario and preferably be able to inject the WAD version because I would then have access to the correct banner and manual.

Because the current VC PAL release of Paper Mario is a slowed down interlaced version which looks awfull on my screen compared to a 480p image.

And when I'm gaming in my office I use a X2VGA 2.0 to connect the Wii to my PC monitor and for this to work I also need 480p.

The reason I'm asking the question here is because several people have mentioned that the game should work really well but I can't seem to be able to get it to do so.

im running on vista and upon loading the app it says "VC.exe has stopped working". i put all the files that came in the zip in a subfolder, is that ok. i named the folder where you put the wad and the rom "VC art.wad. i have the art of fighting wad in the folder and the rom im using is shock troppers. i have the common-key.bin in the folder with the .exe files. help would be much Appreciated

I got a similar error when I ran vc.exe from the command prompt in vista without any arguments.

It should work properly if you use:

vc.exe

ex.
vc.exe sin_punish.wad new_rom

This would inject the rom/wad I have located in the new_rom subfolder into the sin_punish.wad wad-file.

The WAD you want to inject into must be located together with all the files from the VC archive along with the common-key.bin file.

The error is not a problem as long as the wad is created.

I also have this error at the end of the creation of each .wad with VC.exe and the .wad works fine at the end, it's just a bug of the program.

Yeah, you have to use the command line.

If you don't know how to run it on Vista, you can also open Notepad, write in a file :

VC nameofyourwad.wad dir

(for example : VC mslug.wad ffury)

then save it as a .bat file (ffury.bat for example) then double click on it in Windows and it just load the command line and do the injection.

Once the injection is done, as it's a .bat file, it will automatically close but that's not a problem.
