Just asking if I'm safe at the moment. I've read some topics but it confuses me. I have my wiiU on 5.5.1 and the updates blocked via DNS. Am I safe? I don't have loadiine, hackchi etc. Just use the browser to load mocha to play games (and dlc). What's the danger with this? That Nintendo will disable the browser if I don't update or is this setup safe?

You're fine. But, on 5.5.2 you won't be able to use the browser anymore, so I would really get a DS game to install Haxchi if I were you.

IF i have haxchi, i can Update for 5.5.2?

It is highly recommended that you not update to 5.5.2. If you rely on the browser to load homebrew, you will lose that if you update to 5.5.2. If you have Haxchi, that will still work after the update. However, the update offers no new functionality, and the update is not worth removing a primary browser exploit. If something were to go wrong with Haxchi, you'd have no way to load homebrew.

Thx for the quick reply. Yeah maybe getting a VC game is a good idea at the moment. You never know what happens... but it's weird that so many people experience problems (auto-updates) because blocking updates is like the first thing you do when softmodding your wiiU

yes, but I wouldn't update if I were u. there's no reason to other than to.
TKS, i Will hold my self. I just thing start to play tokyo mirage and xenoblade and i see a lot of comments saying to play both games on line for a better e experience.
I don't like to play on line if i can play off.
Tks.

Yeah trust me it's money well worth spent.
Haxchi is much superior and easier to use, and nowadays safer as well.
That's worth 5$..

It's almost free, I don't really understand why so many was sticking to the worse mocha/browsermethod.
Those few dollars ruined the system for many people..
And now everyone's suddenly running to haxchi, sad they weren't prepared to pay that Lil' sum earlier.

I got a used 5.5.1 system yesterday and i still used Haxchi.
Great man.
Then you're pretty safe. Set proper DNS blocking so you don't get updated to 5.5.2. I recommend you stay on 5.5.1 for the moment and wait and see if new entry points is found. The update didn't add any functional additions.
But you're safer now with haxchi. :)

It's not that I'm not prepared to spend the money but I haven't got a creditcard and then you have to buy a eshop card which will cost me more. I would gladly pay $5 now if it would be fixed instantly without me having to go trough the hassle ;)
