Hardware New to the 3DS.

Hey.

So, I recently made a jump from the ds lite to the 3ds solely to get myself ready for the VI gen pokemon games. I like it so far.

However, I didn't get a flashcard yet, and thought I would get some opinions on the matter. I was using the old r4 card with wood firmware and I loved it!

I'm currently on the 4.4.0-10U firmware and I'm being asked to update the software. Should I?

How good is the r4 on the 3ds? or any other flashcard.

r4 does not work on the 3ds only r4i 3ds ones but the greatest flashcard is the dstwo

Oh god, those are expensive! The rdi 3ds runs for about 16.

You should get a dstwo, no matter the price.

Unless you don't value your time / effort, then get any other card, cry as it probably wont even boot because it hasn't been supported for years, and then go ahead an buy a dstwo.

Your choice.

The DSTwo is the only cart that hasn't needed a new hardware model (which means a new purchase) to run on new systems. "Expensive"? It's the price of a single new DS game.

I am glad to hear my dstwo will work. I have just purchased a 3DS XL from amazon and it should be on it's way next week won't be able to afford any games for it though for a while :/. I also got it for pokemon x and y but I am looking forward to playing fire emblem, mario kart, heroes of ruin and hopefully an advance wars will come out! also a new zelda like phantom hour glass on ds.
