Hacking new to switch

Hi getting my switch in a few days, it's the one that comes with Mario kart 8 deluxe in the new design of the "red box" switch.
Does that mean I can't install any cfw or homebrew or is it possible now?

Red box can only be hacked with a modchip (currently only SX Core)

It's a red box, they are always patched.
