I finally had a go at homebrew thanks to EoC's easy to follow tutorial. I've got the HBC installed and downgraded to 3.2e (again thanks to EoC again).

What homebrew apps/games do you lot recommend then ?

Emulators, Emulators, Emulators .. Then media players (DragonMedia Player + Geexbox) and probably the Backup Loader

And if you're on 3.2, you HAVE to install Starfall when you're using WADManager

Got starfall installed. I've got a wiikey for backups would it be a good idea to install a backup loader in case my modchip ever fails ?

Ah yes. But I kinda prefer this combo:

Modchip + Gecko OS.

You could also try Modchip + Backup Loader Gamma .

As for the homebrew, I suggest getting FTPii, will make your file transferring life much easier.
DVDx is also a must get if you intend to play DVDs off your Wii.
