Does anyone know if its possible to save the settings made to the goomba color emulator? I'd like to remove the SGB borders and maybe standardize the color palette, but none of my options save on exiting the game.
As far as I am aware, jagoomba should save your settings on a game-by-game base if you bring up the emulator menu (L+R) before quiting the game - but I don't run GB or GBC games on my EZFLash Omega.

It is possible to change the default settings of the emulator if you build jagoomba and the kernel from source and make some changes to the source.

See this post on an explanation at what needs to be changed in order to remove the default SGB borders. Similarly, it should be possible to change other default settings. My best guess is that config.h in the goomba source contains the settings, color paletes are probably defined in gbpalettes.s.

I've ran into multiple issues when it comes to following your steps. Firstly, the converted file I got from using bin2c on the resulting jagoombacolor.gba file is in a completely different format from the goomba.h file used in the source code for the Simple DE theme. Also, the makefile code doesn't create the ezkernelnew.bin file I need to update the firmware with the necessary changes. I tried to edit the makefile to create a .bin, but when I replaced the kernel on the flashcart and attempted to play a gb game, it said it didn't have a rom registered, and I needed to turn the system off in order to exit the menu.

I'm not sure what I need to do to get it working properly.

I guess this firmware also can't help with the Analogue Pocket booting issues huh? :(

On my Pocket the EZ Flash Omega Definitive Edition works like a charm without any Problems. It always boots at first try even with the Official Omega Definitve Edition Firmware.

My Analouge Pocket has Version 1.00b on it.

Hmm do you have a Rev A or Rev B Omega DE? Mine is Rev A and I always get BAD HEADER unless I use the sleep-trick. My Pocket is on 1.00b too.

Maybe you need to change the battery inside the cartridge?

I am running Simple v3.6 and everytime I use the in game save option my save doesn't save? Although the save states still work. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!! Btw I'm using Ez Flash Omega DE.

I wanted to share this skin. If anyone wants a purple, orange, or green verion of this I have also made one :D IPS screen is recommended, on the old AGS-001 it looks too dark IMO.
It's for the regular EZ-Flash omega and based on the newest version of simple.
Scratch this noti. I made my own theme! :)

@Sterophonick I'm working on a new theme based using your Simple theme as a starting point (along with some graphical inspiration from @Nona_Elexis's theme here.

I want to explore changing the fonts, but I'm not sure how to go about generating a compatible font file. Could you offer any information about how you created a C file from the custom font you used in your theme? Did you use Usenti?

@Nona_Elexis used a different font in their theme and happened to include the original character map as a png, so I was able to decipher the layout and grid size. I can't figure out the correct settings thought to make a C file with the same format as what's in the EZFlash kernel. If you can help I'd appreciate

Yooo how did you do that D:. Teach me the sauce or lemme get those files :)

idk if you heard but there's a new release of jagoomba color that fixes metal gear solid. could this be included in the firmware? I know you can add it (as gbc.gba in system files) but for some reason doing it that way causes shantae to crash (whereas using the included version works fine)

It's already built into the fw

I didn’t know you could load jagoomba this way! @Sterophonick, I’ve been meaning to ask you, since EZ Flash has a plug-in system already, is there any reason to keep jagoomba in the kernel core? Is it just to make less setup for users, or are there other reasons? I was thinking it would make things easier for you to maintain, if people could just drop the updated jagoomba version into their plug-ins folder rather than relying on you to release a new kernel.

@steval_beaning assuming that loading jagoomba via the plugins folder doesn’t cause any issues specific to EZ Flash, it’s possible that the issue with Shantae could be a reversion/new bug introduced in version 0.5 of jagoomba?

@Sterophonick apologies if this has been asked I have not been able to find the answer. Is there a way to create custom thumbnails for non GBA games on Simple? Like NES, Master System, Game Gear etc.? Thanks for you work on SIMPLE, it's really outstanding.

Unfortunately not, Simple uses the same thumbnail system as the original EZ Flash kernel, so it only supports thumbnails for GBA games.
