Try opening the menu, waiting five seconds, then using the exit option in the menu.
That's what I've been doing, and I don't really have terribly many corruption issues.
I've been doing it this way and it worked 99% of the times, the thing is when it fails it really kills you. Some guy told me not to use exit but go back into the game and turn off the console to avoid some sram save (or something like that); no idea but I don't think I'll trust ez flash omega again for my gb/gbc games :/

Hey! Awesome work, i really like this new theme and the new features are really appreciated too!

I wanted to ask if i am the only one having trouble saving goomba color settings (palette, detect as GBA, etc.) or if it is normal that those aren't saveable?
Maybe i did something wrong somewhere along the install so i figured i would make a post here. :)

That's normal. EZ-Flash did that to reduce the likelihood of SD card corruption.

However, on the Definitive Edition, this issue is not present, but the $100 price tag may not be worth it for some.

So, from what I gather, most issues of SD card corruption come from playing emulators on the EZ Omega (Original)?
Or what other stuff might cause it to be prone to corruption?

Basically, it's impatience.
The recommended time to wait after saving your game is 3-5 seconds, to give the cartridge time to write the data to the SD card. The problem is there's no indicator that the SD card is being written to and that trips a lot of people - myself included - up.

Its a bit of a shame that it isn't an option for those of us that are more patient and willing to risk the write time. :P
But yeah its understandable, thank you for the answer!
(Also i notice that i can hear sounds coming from the cartridge when its writing data to the SD, maybe some kind of interference or something, but i can usually guide myself with it and its fine, or maybe i'm crazy and i'm hearing voices in my head haha)

This makes me thing that the cartridge should have had an LED that blinked when it was writing to the SD, kinda like those USB pen drives you plugin into the pc.

Yeah, that interference is definitely there, notnsure exactly what's causing it but it might be for a similar reason why RetroModding's old microUSB rechargeable battery causes the buzzing noise.

Thanks for all the work you've done on this theme Sterophonick, as well as Veikkos for the Save Backups feature!

I just picked up an EZ Flash Omega, and it's nice to see it's being supported with regular updates. I've been hanging on to my EZ Flash IV over the years because the saving issues with the Omega put me off, but now that I've taken the plunge, I'm happy to know that there are efforts being made to make this thing the best it can be :)

update: in rts folder i have 12 files, and the games that already have a file in RTS folder work with boot with addon cause it finds the old file, but making new files fails somehow. im quite baffled

Try cleaning your SD card and your flashcart's pins with some isopropyl alcohol. That can fix a lot of issues with SD card stuff.

If that doesn't work, then try using various tools such as chkdsk to repair any errors with your SD card.

Hi, I have a question about the backup system. My Pokémon FireRed saves keep corrupting despite my best efforts to wait before shutting down my GBA. I had hoped that I could use the backup mechanism to restore my saves, but copying the backup to the SAVER folder and changing the extension to “.sav” results in a “the save file has been deleted...” message in FireRed. I also noticed backups are 32kb while “normal” saves seem to be 128kb. Am I doing something wrong?

Since you mention the fact that they are 32KB, your SD card is most likely getting corrupted. If you are waiting the proper amount of time, I don't know what can be done. :/
