QUOTE(jono@home @ Jun 22 2010, 09:28 PM) anyone care to put together a pack or tutorial on how to update the shop channel ?
I made a quick change of marc's 4.2 Shop Updater for myself, but I'm going to wait to see if he releases his own version before releasing it (it's a very simple hack, changing the IOS61 version to 5661 and shop version to 19 and fixing up a few message strings).

If it's not out in a day or two, I'll probably release my version (unless someone beats me to it, which honestly, I'd probably prefer).

I guess you can wait for Dop-Mii to update to the new database too. Then you just need to use it to update your shop channel to v19 and IOS61 to v5661.
There was a fastest method! Dop-Shop:

Just install v19 with Dop-Shop, if you have already IOS61 you don't have to reinstall it.
It's very slow, but it's safe.

Hi everybody, i've tested Sciifii with the Indiana Powns and everithing seems to be ok.
The HBC is installed (Using a wad installation and a modified HBC wad), and i've succeeded to install an usb loader and the cioses...

I will give you a better feedback with an optimized xml config files tomorow.

Is your HBC upside down?

Actually with those exploits

* Indiana Pwns - Works
* Smash Stack - Works

Homebrew will not die of 4.3

Glad to see the solution coming from you

. However, it would be a good idea to update IOS61 to the latest version, no?

Just out of curiosity:
IOS250 does not get overwritten.
If I install the 250 version of Wiiflow 2.0 and have a forwarder channel I will still be able to lauch games from USB.
If I then happen to have Zelda TP on my HDD, I will be able to use the twilight hack again loading Zelda from USB.

would that be right?
If you have a forwarder on your Wii of any type, then you can use that to launch any homebrew and IOS250 to install any IOSes. Yes.

Well, since most of the users here will have some sort of forwarder installed, we will able to rehack the wii after an update to 4.3 from a prehacked wii. It's just the HBC ID that needs to be changed for full recovery from a seemingly scary update

Fortunately, not only HBC has Homebrew Launching capabilities. You could use the forwarder channel to launch WiiXplorer for instance to run the desired dols.

To hell with this update

From what has been reported here, it will only update boot2 if you have a version below 4
so no difference to the 4.2 update on that part

The first post states that BootMii IOS has been removed.
Does that mean IOS254 no longer exists or is it just a stub?

stubbed
Changes

* Deletes the Homebrew Channel and DVDX, title IDs HAXX, DVDX, JODI, DISC, and DISK.
* Now uses IOS80.
* IOS254 stubbed BootMii is deleted.
* Fixed Bannerbomb less stupidly this time.
* Added IOS58.
* HackMii Installer Userland+Syscall IOS exploit removed
* NANDFS privilege escalation fixed
* ES_AddTitleFinish now checks the signature(Trucha Bug Restorer and similar won't work anymore)

For those who want to enter Shop Channel use:
Dop-SHOP

Dop-SHOP also (re)installs IOS61 (latest version) for you if you need it.

Unauthorized Modifications
Because unauthorized channels or firmware may impair game play or the Wii console, updating to Wii Menu version 4.3 will check for and automatically remove such unauthorized files. In addition, there are some behind the scenes enhancements that do not affect any prominently-used features or menus but will improve system performance.

How do unauthorized files impair my gameplay Nintendo? Please explain.
Maybe it doesn't impair gameplay for the person using it, but it impairs gameplay for people who aren't using it. (eg. see the threads here about "I'm a fag who was cheating online, how do I get unbanned?" )

I'm confused. How can Dop-Shop work but not Trucha Bug Restorer?
Don't they fundamentally do the same thing?

I got that message just right now, maybe ill post a pic of the message?

I think you're confusing Dop-SHOP with DOP-Mii
Dop-SHOP installs the latest Shopping channel + IOS61

So if Dop-Shop can install IOS61 then why can't Dop-Mii install a trucha-bugged version of IOS36?

If I sent my Wii to Nintendo (to get VC/Wiiware games again) would they change the system to 4.3? . . .
