I thought boot2 was hardcoded onto somethingymabob and couldnt be overwritten just updated in future hardware updates.
Nope. It's boot0 that is burned into ROM. boot1 resides in NAND, but its SHA-1 hash resides in write-once memory (this basically means it can't be touched). boot2 is the first modifiable part of the boot process.

tell me for the love of all things holy hermes or someone else is going to make this 4.3U a fabled dream in nintendo's eyes of stopping homebrew..

Why can't everyone just install a forwarder channel with your own unique id...durrr. Wouldn't have to worry about homebrew channel going away

I just have a LoadMii channel installed and moved to the end of my channel page for whenever I might need it. Not to mention that any forwarder channel you have installed will run whatever you want it to so long as your boot.dol is in the right place.

Maybe the next HackMii could ask which channel you never plan to install(stuff like the lucky channel, or the rabbids go home channel) and then gives the Homebrew Channel its id.

i just try the sneek with di menu and

can't open the SNEEK menu

stay on the last choise before i update

and i lost my wii shopping channel on my nand

Ok I'm a noob. I haven't really touched my Wii in awhile and am still on 3.2U. What do the newer firmwares do that I can't already do? I can play Super Mario Galaxy 2 at the moment now so is there any real reason to update?

I'm just glad I did the online-update for my friends to get 4.2 on the weekend before I modded it. If I was too lazy to do it till today I'd be up shit creek.

The only feature of note is the SD menu from 4.0 onwards. That and SDHC support from the system menu if that matters to you.

You kinda just answered your own question with the first part of your last sentence! Do you feel you are missing out on something? If so go ahead and update - if not - dont!
