Hi,

I recently got a modded Switch lite with an Instinct V6S modchip installed, and had a couple of questions.

First, before I do anything, should I backup my NAND? Even though I haven't started playing anything? If so, does doing this differ from backing up the NAND on a OG Switch without a modchip?

Also, I went into the "Launch" menu, and saw 3 options. I know that the emuMCC option boots into CFW, but what is the difference between "SYSMMC CFW" and "SYSMMC SEMI-STOCK"? The semi-stock seems to boot into the OFW with the Nintendo logo, but why is it called semi-stock? I know not to go online with the emuMCC CFW option. So, which of the 2 sysMMC options are safe to use if I want to play online?

Another question I have is that, since I have a mod chip, I heard that it may need to retrain itself when I do a system update (and something about using a magnet). I have AIO installed, and was wondering if I would update the OFW first or CFW first. I'm familiar with updating on a Switch without the chip, and without using AIO. I'm just curious if there is anything different involved.

Lastly, what does the light near the vent on the back of the Switch indicate usually? I know it's the chip, but does it show different patterns or colors indicating certain things?

I've attached a couple of photos showing the launch options and my payloads. The picofly tools in payloads stood out to me because I thought I had the Instinct chip. If someone could explain this, that would be great.

I appreciate the help!

sysMMC CFW - Runs AMS on your NAND
SEMI-STOCK - NAND with fusee check bypassed
emuMMC - NAND copy from SD card

There is also another option to boot.
hekate -> reboot -> OFW or key combination (VOL +/- + Power) - if N logo shows up. you skipped hekate/AMS and you can play online without worrying about ban.

Yes, you can run AMS on your NAND and even play online as long as you don't use cheats, mods in online games or install any NSP/XCI. Installing anything on NAND is just asking for ban. idk about having sigpatches on sysMMC, sys-patch allows for disabling patches on sysMMC though.

For RGB light meaning check INSTINCT-NX error codes. Purple is glitching and green is glitch success.

Alright. The SEMI-STOCK option shows the N logo instead of the AMS on startup. So, I'm guessing that's the one I should select if I want to go online? Then, for installing nsp/xci files, I would boot emuMCC?

Semi-stock means that some patches are only loaded, else rest is 100% stock.

Alright. I think I understand. Would physical copies of my games be fine, or does it matter? For nsp or xci files, would emuMCC work or not?
Your games will be fine. DO NOT INSTALL ANYTHING NON-LEGIT ON SYSMMC (NAND) OR YOU WILL BE BANNED. Use emuMMC for anything releated to NSP/XCI aka piracy. There are also some homebrews like tinfoil which install itself as NSP, so yeah don't do this.

Yes. I have Tinfoil when I launch emuMCC. So, I assume I can treat the sysMCC/NAND as if CFW isn't installed? Just want to make sure online is okay as long as it's in sysMCC.
