Hacking New Super Mario. Bros cheats gone

My cheats for NSMB are suddenly gone. I have the newest cheat code build, and all other games work. Anyone else having the same troubles?

Any idea how to fix them? I have gone through all the settings and can't understand where they went.

Is it possible that my (U) rom won't accept the cheats, and that it must be an (E) rom?

Try these things:
1. Download the cheat-database again.
2. Press X in the cheat menu so that it rebuilds the cheats.
3. Make sure your game has the correct rom number. Aka clean rom since hacked roms may get their number changed.

US/EUR/JAP makes no difference since there should be cheats for all those versions.

How do you check and change the rom number? What software?

I tried everything else, so it must be the incorrect number.

Once again.

You open your USRCHEAT.DAT file in R4CCE.

You find NSMB in the list of games.

There will be a field called "GAME ID" separated into two parts.

There will be a button that says [dot][dot][dot].

Click on that and open your NSMB ROM.

It will change your Game ID so that it will work.
