New Square Enix/n-Space 3DS game revealed
The mysterious "Heroes of Ruin"

While there's not much info on it, n-Space has accidentally leaked an image and the name of their upcoming Square Enix game, "Heroes of Ruin". There's been no info on what it exactly will be, but so far it seems to be 3DS exclusive.

If you didn't know, n-Space was behind the Gamecube classic Geist and recently has been making some first person shooters for the DS (such as the three Call of Duty games as well as Goldeneye 007).

Square Enix is typically known for their RPGs and this game would mark their first new 3DS IP, but n-Space is pretty unfamiliar with the territory. Lookout for more info on it though, an official announcement seems imminent

UPDATE!

In the upcoming issue of Nintendo Power, Heroes of Ruin has been revealed as what seems to be an action/RPG game.

There are four playable mercenaries (as seen in the artwork), each with unique armor, weapons, and abilities to customize.

Heroes of Ruin also sports an impressive online mode, allowing up to 4-player drop-in/out co-op and voice chat via the 3DS microphone. There's also SpotPass features to allow for daily challenges and other DLC.

No release date or further info has been added yet, but keep a look out for it! Thanks to Ikki for the information![/p]

Well, Square Enix is Square Enix. They're like THE RPG company, but they've also produced plenty of non-RPG games.

n-Space has had an iffy track record. They made Geist and the DS FPS games weren't bad, but they've made plenty of shit. Plus we don't know exactly what this will be.

I can't really say anything definitive until its announced and we know what it is.

Sometime last week. I just felt like it'd be a more fitting position than TV staff, especially since Schlupi and haddad have the TV section up and running again.

Indeed. As much as I dislike it, TWEWY had some really nice graphics. I didn't like the art style for FFIII or FFIV but they also pushed the system a bit. Hopefully this will look good (considering the 3DS is still in its early stage where the graphics of its current games are only baby steps in the graphical capability).

Geist was not very good. I'd hesitate labeling it a classic. I was very excited for the game, bought it day one even which was very rare for me back then. Not sure what I was thinking because it ended up being pretty mediocre. Certainly a badass concept though.

...if this is an ARPG, i hope it's a behind-the-back, 3rd person one, similar to how Elder Scrolls (and WoW) play. and expansive, free-roam worlds please.

N-Space has done quite a decent job for the black ops DS. The only thing which sucked was graphics, the rest were good... Really good!

I can't wait to see what this game has to offer. Also, N-Space has quite a number of games under development for the 3DS. Hopefully one of em' will be MW3.
