New Screens for Need For Speed: Shift

New screens for one of the next installations of the Need for Speed franchise, Need For Speed: Shift have surfaced. Shift is for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation Portable and PC. It is suspected to shift into stores Fall 2009.

Electronic Arts unveils the firsts images of Need For Speed : Shift. Expected later this year on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC (showned here) and Playstation Portable, this episode turns to pure simulation and therefore leaves the arcade side reserved for the versions Nintendo DS and Wii with Need For Speed : Nitro. At the controls of development, Slightly Mad Studios who has made the GTR and GT Legends. A new graphics engine promises miracles for more of realism.

Who wants another Need For Speed? The series should've died LONG ago. Instead they turned it into a crap milkcow.

At least they have three proper sets of developers rather than one, all three are supposed to be seperate from each other so its just like three different games. To EA its no different to releasing FIFA, Madden etc in the same time frame. At least they're not shoehorning one title to fit all formats I guess.

The games will have to be good to stand a chance of survival now, I doubt Need for Speed: Nitro will be seeing its aimed at "casual" gamers...when will publishers learn that casual gamers enjoy proper racers like everyone else?

I think it's a very good plan of EA to release 3 different games, hopefully it works out well.
