Hacking NEW R4i-SDHC email !!

Okay so I read from another post that the r4i-sdhc team will be scrapping their cart and be selling a new one on
r4isdhc.com

I wrote an email last night (september 6th) and got this response.

Hi

Sorry to bother you, but Ive been reading that you guys are going to not update the cart and just start selling a new one,
R4isdhc.com

Is that your team?
Are you going to abandon the original cart and just start with a new one?

I believe theres hope for the r4i-sdhc!!
And to be honest they reply fast and are a great r4 team, well for making fake ones atleast (or clones)

To be honest my R4i is amazing!
I have yet to see a fault in my cart!

No, they aren't. Being a clone doesn't make them trash. I haven't had ANY major issues with mine, and I've had perfect compatability so far.

It's a damn good card, so stop saying it isn't. I understand WHY people spam that as soon as they see anything more than "R4" in the name, but mindlessly bashing a good card is obnoxious, old, and ill-informed.

Low expectations don't make a good cart.

yes but as he said, aside from still not working with 1.4, I never had an issue with my R4i-SDHC, worked well, ran whatever I threw at it, etc... what higher expectations do you have?

The lack of english in these emails has left me totaly confused. From what I can gather, they are going to release a new cart for 1.4, but they will also release a new kernel for all their R4i carts (R4 SDHC, R4i SDHC & R4i SDHC 1.4), which seems to make the most sense right now.

Could you point to the thread with the email indicating that their plan was to release a new card? I know that that has been the gist of most of the speculation, but looking back through most of the R4i-SDHC topics, I can't find one email that says any more than "soon."

this doesn't make any sense, i mean, they've got the dsi updater, it's a DSTTi clone, they should know the coding and make it work on the R4i

Maybe DSTTi clone means based on the same core component but with some minor differencies like chips not rewritable hosting the card-header. Thus the clone card should be cheaper than the original.
(cf. original product got a CD-RW and the clone product have a CD-R)

i'm pissed, i believed them them for a very long time, and after the dstti came with an update, i had good hopes, but now, it seems that they just quit, after what is it now, 2-3 months? I'm going to oder AK2i......
