Yes, in one of the tempcasts they said r4 team was planning on releasing an r4 with microSDHC support, but that was a long time ago. I dont think it will ever happen.
And, @Zalda, how are we supposed to know what the new r4 is supposed to look like?

It will be released in 6 months.

It will be hot pink and will stick out a full 6 inches from the DS slot.

It will have better than SDHC. SATA II HDD.

That's just a rumor spread by the people selling the TTDS/DSTT.

The DSTT has a different GUI, not to mention the game Contra 4 doesn't work on it, without some changes, of course.

I do not see a reason for the team to drop such a popular name to make a new product with a different name. I would rather suspect that they would keep the name and just continue with a new product.
