I have no real problems with the slightly (over) clicky X,Y,O and []. Given that currently the 1000 is regarded as the black sheep of controls in my view the Go's D pad and the L/R shoulder buttons are awful, worse than the 1000's any day of the week (and most of my PSP gaming these days is on a 1000). The D Pad is even more depressed than the 1000 and the shoulders are just ruined by being made out of leftover parts from reject shops. The nub is barely acceptable for more intense games...

Toss in the actual position of the controls (sure it's not a deal breaker but it IS worse than the other consoles), and unless a little extra portability and internal memory is an absolute must i'd never place the Go at the top of the PSP tree.

That's not even mentioning the other issues i have with it (flimsiness of the slide mechanic, battery lifespan and removability etc...)

I like the GO's control, I like it better than my 3000.

But that personal preference and last I checked personal preference does not = FACT
That goes for the GO's haters criticizer too

Thanks guys,

If i were to buy a new psp go, what firmware am i expecting,
meaning will a new psp go be hackable,

All PSP Gos have the same motherboard so all can be downgraded to 6.20 for permanent CFW. Also, as of right now all firmware versions are downgradable thanks to some1's new downgrader (yes, 6.60 is downgradable).

I'd tentatively say that it's factually accurate to say that on a side by side comparison to the older models the D pad on the Go is more depressed and less functional because of the lack of protrusion, and the shoulder buttons are again worse than on previous models. I'll give you that the nub is down to preference though as it's certainly no worse or better than old versions.

i only find the positioning of the buttons to only be a problem when i have a headset plugged in, because that's where i'd normally rest my pinkie, other than that my only complaint is the pathetically squishy shoulder buttons
