Can't say that I'm surprised about that.

On a separate note, I am kind of surprised that they haven't released the lock on Diancie generation yet since there was that one day only pre-release in Japan already. I guess one possible reason could be that the trade ban is still in place for now, but then again, that didn't stop them from releasing the lati@site stones.

Well when it's released in Japan, (If I'm not mistaken more people play Pokemon in JP) it won't exactly be special or unreleased because it's tradable and you never know, they might bring out an item that can evolve it from Carbink after a while.
Can't be that special if it's introduced at the start of ORAS.

If it's tradable, I imagine that spares us the agony of having to wait for a Wonder Card code?

There's a chance of evolution or there would be no point relating it to Carbink, unless it's like Lotad where you have to breed Lombre to get Lotad, perhaps it will be like that.

It's most likely related to the fact that the movie has not been "officially released" and has just had a one day only advance screening. I'm just surprised that Datel hasn't re-enabled the code like they did for the recent vivillons. I will say that for all of the people who have been falling all over themselves to get Diancie have not really been missing much other than the fact it was fun showing it off to the random trader who is just trying to be annoying. You know, the ones that initiate a trade just to show off all of the legendaries that they get. I wished that I could have seen the looks on their faces!

Say, you breed a Carbink with Ditto. But, there's a catch: for it to evolve into Diancie, the Carbink that produced the egg must be holding an item that causes the mutation of Carbink into Diancie. Before you leave the parent Carbink to breed with Ditto, the Carbink must be holding that particular item. Upon hatching, the hatched Carbink should be a Diancie instead.

Diancie is basically a Carbink that has gone under a mutation. That's it. It's not an evolutiom.
And this is pokédex, don't assume that what says in the pokedex will determine the mechanics of a pokemon, necause more often, it will not.
A slowpoke needs a shellder to evolve. In the games, it's only level up.

Heh, that would be crazy but is possible, here are ALL of my theories;

1 - The lotad idea I mentioned above.

2 - A certain time of day when Carbink should evolve.

3 - At a certain place, hidden?

4 - A special item given in an event to evolve Carbink.

5 - Mega Carbink in the appearance of Diancie? (Very unlikely)

6 - Different breeding methods.

Those are about it.

Apparently, it is only on the PAL region servers right now and haven't crossed over to the NA servers yet. Odd yes, but it has happened in the early days of the device.

There were times that it took a day or so before crossing over. It hasn't happened for a long time though. My guess is that it is just a simple oversight and all somebody will have to do is make a few clicks on a computer at Datel to fix it. I suspect that it should be enabled within the next 24 hrs, but that is only a guess.

You would figure that they would take the one day only release of it and use that as a bridge to get people off of their back and release the old "Diancie in box1,slot1 code" again.

I would love to see their inbox sometime. I bet that half of their e-mails are calling for them to add Diancie and AZ Floette codes again.

After everything that the poor person who had to read all of those had to go through, I think that I would see pokemon and then check delete as soon as I did!

It does beg the question, "Why the hell (pardon my language) not release Diancie now? Or, back when it was released for a one-day screening?"
