I was wondering: if an american/NA cartridge (like yours) received the event, would there be a "JPN" tag next to the event's english name? or would there be no "JPN" tag at all?
There would be no JPN tag on its name, and it's origin will be the region of the game. I can confirm this coz I edited my event on Cyber gadget and it's origin is north america... And also if you got a Japanese game set in English there will be no JPN tag also but the country of origin is still Japan. The language tag represents the language of your game not the region. So to sum up, it doesn't really matter what region or language your event is as long as it's not a code event. Code event however will follow the language of your game but it's region lock so the game region will always be set. And also to make it clear, cinema events/pokemon center events here are mostly local wifi, only the Corocoro ones/ticket events are in serial codes like Darkrai and the Charizards.

EDIT: I read your post and realized you're explaining it's a language tag.

Yes, to those who TL;DR like me,

The tag refers to Language the pokemon was received,
not 3DS region received on.

Original post in spoiler:
The "JPN" tag refers to language, not the region it's from.

Your Jirachi is nicknamed in English, hence why it doesn't show the tag.

The only other time the name will be in English, but a foreign language tag is shown,
Is when it evolves/hatched in another language but origin is another language..

If I have a Japanese Pokemon, can I change it to English Language?

I'm assuming you're talking about it being named in Japanese:
If it can evolve, evolving it in a ENG language game will change the name, if the JPN name was it's default name.

If it can't evolve/it's nicknamed, nothing you can do.

EDIT:
Or you can trade it to someone who has cybergadget and get the guy to nickname hack the pokemon for you.

but that'll probably affect the legality

That means if I got a German Taillow (that really did happen via trading) and its name was Schwalbini, when it evolves, it becomes Swellow in an English port of the game. Oh, and this Taillow wasn't nicknamed.

Yes!

Do note there is an exception:
If the above scenario happens in a previous generation, and is transferred into Gen VI using Pokebank/Poketransfer,
It will re-obtain it's original name in that language origin.

Meaning to say,
If you Pokebank a unnicknamed German Swellow, it'll be given the name Schwalboss.

This is so awkward... I came to this thread to ask you about this because I received THAT same modest 6 IV Jirachi! haha this is awesome, what a small world. The only problem with everything is that nobody knows what is a hack and what isn't, due to all these hacking devices owned by almost everyone. Anyway, glad you could help me.

So is that Jirachi a hack?

So, i'm here basically to say that i'm frustrated with the PS support... I bought a product by amazon and when i received i realized it was an UK PS and i own american games... This is the third week i'm trying to change the region of my license key and got 0 feedback. Not even a "we cant do that for you - so sorry"
