First announced last June, New Pokémon Snap launches today on the Nintendo Switch. For the occasion, a brand-new trailer was released today on the official Pokémon YouTube channel:

I think companies avoid numerical sequels sometimes to avoid putting off newcomers to the series. New makes it sound like it's something fresh and detached from the original.

Not sure if that's what they were going for, but it does carry some sense with game titles. More sense than using new for consoles names anyway lol

I'm not really complaining so much as I'm genuinely confused. Not saying the game is bad or anything because of it, I just think it's a weird name because it won't be "new" forever. Makes more sense for a game rather than a console like the 3ds though. Like what @Scarlet said.
