Amazon has now upgraded any pre-orders of the $299 3g version of vita to the bundle.

"Pre-order the PlayStation Vita 3G/Wi-Fi Launch Bundle to receive over $55 in bonus content. It comes with an 8GB Memory Card, DataConnect Session Pass, and PlayStation Network Game. All existing PlayStation Vita 3G/Wi-Fi pre-orders will be upgraded to the PlayStation Vita 3G/Wi-Fi Launch Bundle."

Not a bad deal for those wanting to buy the 3g version or for anyone considering it seeing as how pricy memory cards are.

nvm

but this is a good deal, you don't even need to keep paying for the 3g right?
Yes, you have to pay a monthly fee for 3G.

3G's old stuff anyways. LONG LIVE 4G!
I think what he means is if you dont want to use the 3G you dont have to.

also, I don't think the vodafone plans in the uk are monthly.

I'd prefer the Wifi version. I wonder if this is to secure pre orders.. the game in town lowered the pre order price from £25 to £10. No one was biting?

Sounds like they're getting more desperate to shift the seemingly unwanted/undesired 3G unit....i'd imagine something like a 3 wifi to 1 3G (or maybe higher) ratio of actual sales of the console around launch. The elevated cost isn't justified by the current increased functionality.

Still not worth the money when all is said and done. An 8GB memory card is insufficient for most people, especially those of us who don't really want to carry games everywhere.

I really dont think it you would have to pay monthly for a 3G connection, isnt that a data plan option? becoz if it were the case that all 3G/Wi-Fi models can only purchase with a data plan, then sony has gone completely retarded with that, it wouldnt make sense at all coz people would hardly buy it. I prefer a prepaid data plan, i can totally live with that coz then im not obligated to pay a lowsy fee at the at end of the month. I dont give a shit about the price, im still getting a 3G/Wi-Fi when it hits the shops here in SA on feb 22, Im a console collector, i collect consoles

Why would we need to pay for a data plan for the Wi-Fi model?

No thanks.. No good games yet then I am skipping it.
It's got a few good games, Ultimate Marvel VS. Capcom being one of them.

Which is also available for 360 and PS3.
Does that make it any less good?

Yes, because I can play it now instead of waiting with bated breath for the Vita version.
But that means nothing for the game itself.
