I have a few questions about modding my wiiu. How much HDD space would I need and how many would I need? I was reading I would need 3.
SD (for retro), External HD (for wii/GameCube), and flash for WiiU games?

Also which emulators can work out of PSP, 3DS, and DS? I read that PSP can be glitchy and 3DS isn’t possible. Also for DS do I have to inject games into existing DS games. Only game I have is Brain age.

- SD for homebrew and stuff, this gets into the Wii Us SD slot.
- Either one HDD for everything (injecting Wii stuff) or one for Wii U and one for vWii. Don't use flash as Wii U USB storage!

How much space you need depends on how many and which games you own. For Wii U, you need to extend memory over USB.
For vWii, you have a few options. You can do VC inject, which allows you to install them to the storage belonging to the Wii U and directly launch them from the Wii U menu.
If you want to launch them the classic way, via an USB loader, I would suggest to not bother with USB storage for the vWii but instead just use a bigger SD, you can also start vWii games from there. Today I just saw a 256card for 15€ or 512gb for 30€. So there is no need to bother with an extra HDD just for vWii and all the headaches coming with that (like hiding it from the Wii U side and power supply)

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
