So, I just got a PS3 Slim (CECH-20XX) which has OFW 4.81 on it. I ran the Firmware Checker, and it said I can Downgrade to 2.70 or Later. So, now I am just wondering what to do next.

Every Guide I see says I would need to connect to the Internet in order to do the Hacking. So I am wondering......
Which Method is Preferred?
Can I get Rebug Installed in any Method?
I take it I might need to Update to 4.84 in order to do any Method, right?
I'm going to be needing to have a PSN already Setup, huh?

You need to (1) update to 4.82 (or the 4.84/82 hybrid), typically via USB; (2) do the appropriate version of the PS3Xploit NOR flash writer, USB or HDD variant at your choice (which typically is done online, though you can self-host if you really want to), and (3) install, again from USB, the CFW of your choice

Yes, the consequence of the flash writer (with the appropriate .hex file) is that the console accepts a CFW (of equal or newer system version) as update; there's no difference on whether you do the exploit on 4.82 or 4.84/82 if you want a 4.84 CFW (and once you get a CFW, you can enable the "QA flag" with an appropriate homebrew, to enable downgrades even if you return to OFW)

You don't need a PSN account for the procedure, you may be thinking of the HAN method (which works on all consoles but gives you significantly less freedom than CFW and HEN)

Any Tutorials on the Subject? Seems all I am find is the Methods that are in the Works. Is there a Site that is like the 3DS/Vita Hacks Guide? Been trying to find that, but I cant

OK, actually, from what I have read, I can Update to 4.84, Install HAN, then I can Downgrade, then I can Install CFW like Rebug, correct?

Will this work in my situation?

Question: The weay it makes it sound, I need to connect to my PC for this by connecting to the Internet. However, I am wondering if it will work just by connecting a LAN Cable directly from my PC <--> PS3 so I do not get tripped up with a 4.84 Update Nag??

Or would THIS Method be better?

Update to 4.84

Install 4.84 Hybrid

Install ps3xploit

Pretty simple softmod nowadays

MANY thanks to ModderFokker619. Rebug is now Installed. Now just have to get a higher Capacity SSD Installed, and get everything good to go.

If SEN/PSN is Disabled, does this mean the PS3 can go Online without Connecting to Sony for using RetroArch to Update Cores?

PSNpatch

Safest way to go online

I see there is a Artemis PS3 Cheat Engine, but how do I find Cheats for PS3 Games? Got a good amount of Games that there are Cheats for, but a few dont that I would like to create some for.

PS3UserCheat gives a System Error
Artemis I have to check out others, but it has Issues with GoW-CoO Videos. Are there Cobra Patches? Cant find anything on that because of all the BS Sites thinking I am Searching for something else.

those cheat packages could be causing corruption due to game updates. the hex replacement may be the same but not the offset.
